Best for: Touring days where the descent is long and open rather than tight. Inside its own family it is drawn for a longer arc than the other two wide models: 18 m at every length on a 40 percent rocker share, where the 112 and the 100 are both listed at 15 m and 45 percent. It suits a skier who carries speed through variable snow and wants a platform that stays put underfoot, and who is doing the climbing — 1,367 to 1,643 grams per ski is what makes 105 mm of width bearable on a long ascent. It also answers one question cleanly. If you like how the all-mountain 105 turns and your objection is the mass, DPS prints you the same spec table with 196 to 338 grams per ski taken out.

Not for: Firm snow. A paulownia core with no metal laminate, 105 mm of width and 1,531 grams per ski at 171 is a light, wide platform, and DPS declines to make any edge-hold claim for this model. Skip it if you want short, quick turns out of a touring ski: 18 m is long for a touring ski — the 94 crosses it at 17 to 19.5 m, and its two 15 m siblings are the quick answers on the identical layup. Skip it if your touring days are genuinely deep, because 105 mm sits in the middle of DPS's touring widths and the 112 mm and 117 mm models are drawn for that snow.

Description

DPS builds the Pagoda Tour CFL 105 as a 26/27 touring ski drawn for longer turns: 105mm underfoot, one 18m radius across the whole size run, and per-ski weights from 1,367g at 155cm to 1,643g at 184cm. DPS publishes a 40% rocker to 60% effective edge split, files it under Touring, and writes that it handles the full spectrum of backcountry terrain at high speeds, rewarding a strong skier who stays composed in technical terrain.

The four Pagoda Tour CFL models climb in width, but their turn shapes do not follow. The CFL 100 and the CFL 112 are both listed at 15m on a 45% rocker share; the 94 and this one carry longer arcs and a bigger effective-edge share. Of the three models 100mm or wider in DPS's published 26/27 Pagoda Tour CFL range, this is the only one not listed at 15m. That grouping is our reading of two published figures, not a DPS classification. Against the 100 it reframes the choice: five millimeters of waist is the smaller difference, 15m against 18m the larger.

DPS's Pagoda Tour CFL stack is a textured topsheet, a high modulus full carbon plus flax laminate over a paulownia core, Rockwell 48 steel edges, and a World Cup race base carrying Phantom Glide. DPS credits carbon with energy and strength, flax with natural damping. No metal laminate appears in that five-item list, though the steel edges in it are metal and DPS describes an aluminum tail bar on its brand-wide technology page — so the point is scoped to the laminate.

DPS credits the waist and a subtle taper with float in deep snow, and the rocker profile with the 18m radius for a stable platform at speed. It publishes no claim about edge hold or groomers.

Five lengths — 155, 163, 171, 179 and 184cm — at $1,695 in one colorway, sold flat. DPS publishes a sizing chart by height band and ability, and sells a skin pre-trimmed for the model. We ordered none for 26/27 and list none, so ask before planning on one.

The take

What follows is read off published numbers, published construction, DPS's own copy, and an independent review that turns out to be about a different season's ski.

That review is worth knowing and worth bounding. It says it tested the 179 in the 2023-24 season and went up in November 2024, and two of its own figures say the ski it measured is not proven to be this year's: 1,536 grams per ski at 179 where DPS now publishes 1,619, and a 133 mm shovel where the current table prints 134. Inside that scope it scored the ski 8.0 of 10 in powder and the same in crud, 7.0 for stability at speed, and 6.0 on firm snow, where it says plainly this is not the ski to reach for. Take it as a reading of an earlier ski.

Our own caution about hardpack rests on something else. 105 millimeters of width, a layup with no metal laminate, and 1,531 grams per ski at 171 add up to a wide, light platform, and DPS makes no edge-hold or groomer claim for this model on either official source. That silence is not a measurement and proves nothing about how the ski grips, but it does mean there is no manufacturer claim to lean on either.

The comparison with real arithmetic in it is the all-mountain 105. Its spec table prints the same numbers at all five shared lengths, it carries 196 to 338 more grams per ski, and it lists higher rather than lower. DPS does not publish a reason for the difference on either official source, so treat the gap as pricing and nothing more. And the match stops where the printing stops: mold, camber and torsion are published for neither ski.

Sizing is simpler here than usual, because 18 m and the 40 percent rocker share hold from 155 through 184. Length buys surface area, edge and swing weight, not a different printed turn shape. DPS overlaps its height bands — a 175 cm skier sits inside three of the five — and its beginner and intermediate columns carry the same length in four of the five. Use the chart to narrow, then bring your boots in.

One last thing, and it belongs in a verdict. What DPS still holds, and what getting a pair would involve, is an open question until we ask, so nothing here should be read as a promise that one can be had. Ask us before you plan around it.

PTO stocks resort bindings only, so we are not offering an in-store pairing for a touring ski. Mounting, brake-width match and release settings are handled by a technician at fitting.

How is the DPS Pagoda Tour CFL 105 different from the Pagoda Tour CFL 100?
Less by width than by shape: the 100 lists a 15 m radius with a 45 percent rocker share; this one lists 18 m with 40 percent, on the same carbon-and-flax layup over paulownia. The 100 is the quicker of the two and DPS claims an edge-hold benefit for it that it does not claim here; this one is drawn for a longer arc and more float. Weights are close — 1,302 to 1,601 grams per ski on the 100 against 1,367 to 1,643 here — so this choice comes down to turn shape.

Is the DPS Pagoda Tour CFL 105 good on firm snow?
It is the weak end. DPS publishes no edge-hold, groomer or carving statement for this model in either official source, and DPS does not publish a hardpack-grip measurement. An independent review scored an earlier season's version 6.0 out of 10 on firm snow against 8.0 in powder, and said plainly it is not the ski to choose there — but it tested a 2023-24 ski at a weight and a shovel width the 26/27 table does not print, so it bounds the picture without settling it.
What length DPS Pagoda Tour CFL 105 should I get?
The radius is 18 m at all five lengths and the rocker share does not move either, so length buys surface area, edge and swing weight; the turn shape stays put. What does the flax do in a DPS Carbon Flax laminate?
DPS says on this ski's own page that the laminate combines the energy and strength of carbon with the natural dampening qualities of flax, and that the longitudinal fibers being carbon is what keeps the ski energetic at this weight. That is the manufacturer's account and it is worth knowing, but no figure goes with it: DPS publishes nothing for how much damping the flax recovers.
