Kids' prices are for kids' gear, 70–128 cm. The booking form estimates the rate from the birth year; at fitting we confirm the length, and longer skis or boards are adult gear at the adult rate.
How days are counted: pick up the day before you ski and bring the gear back the day after — those two days are free. Picked up on a Friday, a Day rental comes back Sunday, a 2 Day rental Monday, and a Week the Saturday of the following week. Any time the shop is open on the return day is on time.
Included: instructor fitting, free equipment swaps during your rental, free night-before pickup, and gear no older than three seasons — we retire the whole fleet on a three-year cycle.
Add a helmet: $5/time or $20/season; with a visor, $10/time or $40/season. Love what you rode? We credit your rental fee toward the purchase price.

What to bring
Bring a credit card. We keep a card on file — the card a damage or late fee would be charged to; Day, 2-day and week rentals take no deposit.
Wear ski socks for the boot fitting. We sell them in the shop.

Season Rental
Rent for the whole season.
Reservations open every July. Have your gear fitted before the season starts. All in-store season rentals include the same instructor fitting and free equipment swap as our daily rentals. Season rentals are due back May 31.
Best for families in the Portland metro area.
The prices below are for the Beginner package. Intermediate season rental: from $370.

Your rate is set by the day you pick up, not the day you reserve. Booking early holds the gear, not the price.
Returning Customer Loyalty Pricing
If you rented with us last season, you get our Early Bird rate on any pickup through December — even once the season rate has gone up for everyone else. Our way of saying thanks for coming back.

Kids season rental, shipped to your door.
Can't make it to Beaverton? For kids on skis or snowboards 128 cm and under, we now ship the whole season package anywhere in the contiguous US (we can't ship to Alaska or Hawaii) — $229 for the season, round-trip shipping included. Our technicians set up and safety-check every package before it ships.
Best for families outside Oregon.
$229 if you order before December, $249 after — the rate is set by the day you order, so a few days of us checking sizes cannot move it. You are not charged when you order. Tell us the sizes, we check them against what we have, then we email you a payment link for $229 plus a $200 refundable deposit — good for 24 hours. Nothing is set aside until it is paid, and the deposit is refunded to the same card once the gear is back and checked over.

Renting in the shop
Our rental shop is in Beaverton, 15–20 minutes west of downtown Portland via US-26.
Walk-ins are welcome, but we recommend reserving ahead — especially on weekends and holidays — to guarantee availability and skip the wait. When you reserve online, note the time you will pick up, so we can have your gear ready and someone free to fit you.
Kids' skis and snowboards from 70 to 128 cm, and adult equipment with boots from size 4 to 15. Anything longer than 128 cm is adult gear. Kids' gear is at the kids' rate and longer gear at the adult rate: the booking form estimates it from the birth year, and we set the final price at the shop by the length we actually fit. If you have specific sizing needs, mention them in your reservation.
Yes. Pick up after 4 PM the evening before your rental day at no extra charge. This way you can head straight to the mountain in the morning.
You pick up the day before you ski and bring the gear back the day after; neither of those days is charged. Picked up on a Friday, a Day rental comes back Sunday, a 2 Day rental Monday, and a Week the Saturday of the following week. Your reservation shows the return date; any time the shop is open that day is on time.

Yes. On the Beginner and Intermediate packages, skis or a snowboard alone, or boots alone, are 70% of the package price. The Advanced package is already skis only, with boots on request at no extra charge.
Shipped to your home
You share your kid's height, weight, age, and boot size when you reserve. Our technicians build the package from that profile — and for skis, set and release-check the bindings — before it ships.
A prepaid return label is included. At the end of the season, box the gear up and send it back — no return shipping cost.
No — a helmet is the one piece we recommend buying, because it lasts for years. Every ship-to-home package comes with a one-time 20% off coupon for a kids helmet at ptoski.com (emailed when we confirm your order; not combinable with other codes, valid through the end of the season).
Season rentals
On the day you pick up, not the day you reserve. If you book in November for a December pickup, you pay the December rate — booking early holds the gear, not the price. Returning customers are the exception: you keep the Early Bird rate on any pickup through December.
Yes. An in-store season rental takes a refundable deposit at pickup, one per rider: $200 for kids' gear (70–128 cm) on the Beginner package, and $400 for adult gear. The Intermediate package is adult gear whoever rides it, so its deposit is $400. A shipped season rental's $200 deposit is paid with its payment link instead. Day, 2-day and week rentals take no deposit. An in-store season deposit is charged to your card at pickup and refunded on the spot when you return the gear.
Yes. If your kid's skis or board don't feel right during the season, bring them to the shop and we swap them for free, as with every in-store rental.
Good to know
Bring it back on the return date on your reservation — any time the shop is open that day. Late returns may incur additional charges, so if your plans change, call the shop.
Normal wear is covered. If something breaks during regular use, we will replace it at no cost. Damage from negligence or misuse may incur a repair fee.
On a season rental, we keep part of the deposit; on a Day, 2 Day or Week rental, we charge the card on file. The amount depends on the gear.
No — we don't rent jackets, pants or goggles. We do rent helmets with a visor: $10 per time or $40 per season.

An in-store reservation is not charged when you reserve — you pay at pickup. While it is unpaid, you can cancel it from the link in your reservation email until 24 hours before pickup; to change it, or if the link no longer offers to cancel, call the shop. Day, 2-day and week rentals take no deposit; an in-store season rental takes a refundable deposit at pickup, charged to your card and refunded on the spot when you return the gear. A shipped season rental is paid, deposit included, through an emailed payment link and can't be cancelled from a reservation link — call us.
