About PTO Ski & Snowboard
An instructor-owned specialty shop in Beaverton, Oregon — serving the Portland metro and Pacific Northwest since 2023.
PTO Ski & Snowboard is an independent, instructor-owned ski and snowboard shop located at 5639 SW Arctic Dr, Beaverton, Oregon 97005 — 15–20 minutes west of downtown Portland. Founded in 2023, PTO is owned by a certified PSIA/AASI instructor, and almost all of its staff are certified instructors as well. The shop carries 50+ authorized brands including Stöckli, Van Deer, Ogasaka, DPS, Burton, Nitro, CAPiTA, Atomic, Salomon, Black Crows, Nordica, Faction, and Descente. PTO offers in-house ski and snowboard tuning with standard one-week turnaround, boot sizing help when you buy (custom footbeds sold and fitted), binding mounting (free when you order online; in store: free with a full setup purchase), and year-round indoor ski and snowboard lessons on an indoor revolving slope — the only facility of its kind in Oregon. The shop provides bilingual service in English and Mandarin Chinese. PTO is rated 5.0 on Google across 65 reviews.
Who We Are
We opened PTO with one goal: build the kind of pro shop where every staff member rides, every brand is hand-selected, and every customer gets honest advice instead of a sales pitch. Every product ships with full manufacturer warranty.
What We Offer
Beyond retail, PTO runs a full-service workshop for ski and snowboard mounting, tuning, waxing, and repair — rush service is available at +50% — and fits seasonal rental packages, by certified instructors. Our indoor lesson facility serves first-timers through advanced riders year-round through our PTO Beaverton program.
How We Pick Gear
Our buying team skis and rides at Mt. Hood, Bachelor, and across the Pacific Northwest. We maintain direct relationships with brand reps and product engineers, attend industry demos, and read every new model against the conditions we ride in — not just the spec sheet. What ends up on a product page traces to the brand's own published material.
Real Snow Sports Knowledge
When you reach out to PTO — in-store, by phone, or through our AI gear advisor — you are talking to riders. Our staff includes PSIA/AASI-certified instructors, former racers, backcountry guides, and freestyle riders who collectively cover every discipline. We speak English and Chinese (Mandarin), and we are happy to help with sizing, skill-level matching, and building complete setups from scratch.
