Not for: Soft-snow and off-piste skiers: at 67 mm, reviewed as fully cambered, it has little float and goes reluctant the moment the snow softens - its best runs are on firm morning corduroy. Beginners and cautious, progressing skiers: the narrow waist can be tricky and it wants edge angle - running flat is not its strength, so it is not a learning ski. Comfort-first women who want effortless all-day cruising should take the softer, wider, tail-rockered Laser MX (71 mm) instead - Stöckli builds the MX for exactly that and the MP for the opposite. The Laser MP is Swiss brand Stöckli's women's Motion Performance carver — a piste ski, 67 mm underfoot, fast and precise on firm groom and built to ask for less muscle than Stöckli's race-core Laser WRT. It is the keener, more aggressive of the two women's piste models Stöckli builds.
Its 118-67-100 mm footprint holds across the range, which leaves length to set the arc: the radius runs 10.7 m in the 148, 11.7 in the 154, 12.8 in the 160. Under the boot sits a Piste Core Light, the lighter poplar-and-beech wood Stöckli shares with its comfort women's line rather than the beech-heavy Race Core; SF Softflex thins the layers for a softer bend that lighter skiers can load without a fight. The bite comes from race hardware: black racing sidewalls the brand hardens by a stated 10% for power straight to the edge, an SME Light solid metal edge, a Racing-Graphite base, and a race-line 1.0° base / 2.0° side factory tune. An aluminum layer runs inside the FTC flex control, but Stöckli prints no sheet count, no alloy and no weight, so we quote none.
It is a piste specialist and skis like one. It rewards a skier who tips it on edge on firm snow, and it is the wrong tool for soft snow and off-trail at 67 mm, for beginners and cautious skiers the narrow waist can trip up, and for anyone after an effortless all-day cruiser — that job goes to the softer, wider Laser MX. The Stöckli Laser MP is the sportier half of Stöckli's women's piste range, and the whole ski follows from a single trade: it keeps the race models' edge hardware but rides on a lighter, softer platform in place of the heavier Race Core and the carbon of the Laser WRT. MP means Motion Performance - race-line edge grip a lighter or less powerful skier can reach without race-line effort. It debuted for the 2026 model year and carries into 26/27 unchanged - same shape, radii, construction names and article number - so its debut evidence still describes today's ski.
The one independent on-snow test we found - four women testers at a single outlet - scored it highest exactly where it is aimed: quick edge-to-edge and strong edge grip on firm groom, with stability rated well despite the weight-saving build. One tester, no self-described carver, called it the ski that turned her into one. That tracks with the construction: a Piste Core Light and SF Softflex lower the effort to bend and tip the ski, while racing sidewalls Stöckli rates 10% harder, a 1.0° base / 2.0° side race tune and repositioned edge-contact points keep the bite. It stays quick because the radius is short - 10.7 m at 148 cm out to 12.8 m at 160.
The limits are just as clear, and the same test was blunt about them. Reviewed as fully cambered with no rocker, the MP wants to be on edge; run it flat and, in the testers' words, that is not its strength. Float scored its weakest - at 67 mm the moment the snow softens it goes reluctant. Forgiveness is mid-pack: softer than the Laser WRT, but still a narrow cambered carver that punishes passive, backseat skiing. And the evidence base is honestly thin - one outlet, however consistent, not a chorus of tests. Weight and metal-sheet count are nowhere official; the third-party 'two sheets of Titanal' claim is not confirmed by Stöckli, so we do not print it.
Within Stöckli's line, the MP is beaten at their own jobs by two siblings. For effortless all-day comfort and tolerance of softer, variable snow, the wider, tail-rockered Laser MX (71 mm) is deliberately the easy one. For top-end power and stability at speed, the unisex Laser WRT runs the heavier Race Core and carbon in longer lengths - though its shape is close, not identical (118-66-100 mm versus the MP's 118-67-100), and 'women's WRT' is a reviewer's framing, not Stöckli's. Women who want that Race Core in a longer women's package have the Orea SC (70 mm).
