The three-piece Cabrio design is what makes this boot different from every other 100-flex on the wall. The shell, cuff, and external kinetic tongue flex independently, so you get smooth progressive energy rather than a hard stop. Power goes forward, not sideways. Lateral hold and heel lock are excellent out of the box, and the adjustable forward lean (12° or 14°) lets you dial stance without shimming.
The IF Sport liner is heat-moldable via MyFit and gets you 80% of the way to a custom fit in one session. At 101mm it's a genuine medium-volume boot — roomier than the 98mm LV version but not sloppy. If you want BOA convenience instead, look at the Veloce Space 110; if you need more volume, the Cabrio Max is the wider sibling.
Strengths
- +Three-piece Cabrio flex — smoother and more progressive than a traditional overlap
- +Adjustable forward lean (12°/14°) without aftermarket parts
- +IF Sport liner heat-molds in one session for a near-custom fit
Best For
Intermediate-to-advanced medium-volume skiers who want a smooth, progressive flex for all-mountain cruising.
Limitations
- −No walk mode — plan accordingly for lodge walks and bootpacking
- −Buckle closure only; no BOA micro-adjustment option at this price
- −100 flex may feel soft for aggressive 180lb+ skiers — step up to the MV 120
Not For
Narrow feet (98mm → Cabrio LV), anyone who needs walk mode, or expert chargers who want 110+ flex.
Common Questions
- What makes the Cabrio three-piece design different from a normal ski boot?
- Standard overlap boots have two pieces — shell and cuff — that slide over each other. The Cabrio adds an external kinetic tongue as a third piece. This separates forward flex from lateral support, so the boot bends smoothly without losing edge-to-edge stiffness.
- Can I use the Cabrio MV 100 with alpine bindings?
- The GripWalk sole (ISO 23223) needs a binding certified to accept it — GripWalk-specific, MNC, or MN. It will not work in a binding that only accepts an ISO 5355 alpine sole. Have a technician read the certified sole types off your binding before you buy.
- Is the Cabrio MV 100 warm enough for cold days?
- The IF Sport liner has an insulated footbed and welded seams that help retain heat. For extremely cold conditions, a heat-moldable aftermarket insole can add warmth without changing the fit.
