The Union Strata is a men's park-and-freestyle snowboard binding — a soft Mini Disk model with a surfy, playful feel that Union calls its number-one men's park pick. Its published ratings lean one way: freestyle is the top mark, with all-mountain and freeride scoring lower, so this is a specialist for the park — presses and butters — rather than a do-it-all chassis.
The soft feel is built into the parts. Union specs its more forgiving Duraflex ST nylon — the S6 baseplate and S10 highback — plus a reduced-footprint Mini Disk that lets the deck flex underfoot and an OTE Fused Vaporlite bushing that cushions hard landings and quiets chatter. Canting comes built in.
Choose the Strata if you ride park first and prefer a playful, shock-absorbing binding to a stiff, driven one. Look at the stiffer Union Force if you want to charge the whole mountain, the Falcor for dedicated freeride, or the women's Legacy for the same park-first build on a women's chassis. Tell us how you actually ride and we will steer you to the right model.
Two practical notes before you order. On fit, the Mini Disk bolts to boards cut for 4x2 and Burton Channel inserts only; it will not fit a 4x4-only deck or the older Burton 3D three-hole layout, so check what your deck is drilled for. On size, go by your boot rather than your body weight — the Strata runs S through L with no XL. A binding ships on its own, so we will mount it to your board and dial in your size and stance in the shop.
