The Union STR is Union's entry-level all-mountain snowboard binding, a mid-soft Camber Disk model built for riders leveling up from their first setup. Union's own ratings keep the pitch grounded: a 7 for all-mountain, with 6 for performance, 5 for freestyle and 6 for freeride — a capable all-rounder without a standout specialty.
The easy character comes from the build. Union's S5 and S11 Duraflex baseplate and highback flex softer than the pricier Force's fiberglass-loaded chassis, so the STR is simpler to bend and press while your riding is still coming together. A canted, thermoformed EVA footbed tips your feet toward a natural stance and takes the sting out of landings, and the full-size disk keeps the baseplate planted on the board.
Pick it if you want a forgiving, comfortable binding at a friendly price and you are not chasing stiff, aggressive response. Look higher in the range if you have a specialty: the Force drives harder for the whole hill, the Falcor is the freeride tool, and the Strata is the soft park pick. Tell us how you ride and we will steer you to the right one.
Two notes before you order. The Camber Disk bolts to boards drilled for 4x2, 4x4 and Burton Channel inserts, but it does not fit the older Burton 3D three-hole layout, so check what your board takes. Choose your size by boot rather than body weight; the STR runs S through L, with no XL. Bindings ship on their own, so we will mount yours to your deck and confirm your size and stance in the shop.
