The Union Legacy is a women's freestyle snowboard binding — the women's build of Union's Strata — a soft Mini Disk model built for presses, butters and forgiving landings rather than charging. Union's own ratings tell the story: a 9 for freestyle, a 7 for all-mountain and a 5 for freeride, on a flex Union rates 5 out of 10.
That freestyle bias is a construction choice. A reduced-footprint mounting disk leaves the deck freer to bend between the bolts, which is what gives the loose, surfy feel, while Union molds the baseplate and highback from a softer grade of Duraflex ST nylon to keep the ride forgiving. A fused Vaporlite bushing under each boot absorbs impact on landings. Canting is built in, and at 1.75 kg a pair the Legacy sits under the men's Strata.
Reach for it if you ride park and freestyle first and value forgiveness over drive. Look elsewhere if your day is charging the whole hill: Union's Juliet is the do-everything all-mountain option on a Camber Disk, and the Ultra Women's runs lighter and snappier. Tell us how you actually ride and we will point you to the right one.
Two practical notes before you order. Check your board's insert pattern first: the Mini Disk works with 4x2 inserts and The Channel on Burton boards, while a deck drilled only for 4x4 — or an old three-hole Burton 3D — cannot take it. Sizing follows the boot rather than the rider: Union's women's chart covers S, M and L, with no XL row. A binding ships bare, so we will mount it to your deck and confirm your size and stance in the shop.
