Union Source FC Snowboard Bindings 26/27

The 26/27 Union Source FC is a forged-carbon, direct-mount snowboard binding built for riders who put low mass and firm response above price or broad compatibility. Union marks the flex at 8/10 and gives it Performance 10, Freeride 9, All-Mountain 8 and Freestyle 7 on Union’s own scorecard. Union also lists the pair at just 1.13 kg.

The carbon is structural, not decorative. The S10 Halo Duraflex XC baseplate carries a forged-carbon core, joined by a forged-carbon footbed, S18 Forged Carbon highback and 3D forged-carbon heelcup. Titanium strap screws and mixed steel/titanium hardware continue the weight focus. The result prioritizes a carbon-heavy, low-mass build within the Direct Connect trio, not a comfort-first binding.

Direct Connect is the hard compatibility boundary. The baseplate bolts straight to 4x2 inserts without a conventional disk. Boards limited to 4x4 inserts fall outside Union’s published fit, as do Burton boards using Channel or 3D mounting. Only M and L are offered. For US men’s boots, 8–10 maps to M and 10.5–13 maps to L on Union’s unisex chart. Choose by snowboard boot, never rider weight.

The purchase only makes sense as a complete match: advanced rider, correct boot size, correct inserts and a genuine priority on mass. Missing any one of those turns the premium into dead weight.

The Source FC belongs under an advanced rider on a compatible 4x2 board who understands exactly why a 1.13 kg per-pair forged-carbon binding carries a premium price.
