This is the top of the Veloce Space line, and it earns that position. The BOA Dual Dial system uses two separate cable loops controlled from one dial on each side — lower dial locks the forefoot, upper dial cinches the cuff. You get buckle-level precision with glove-friendly adjustment and zero pressure points. The bi-injected shell and Quick Fit Panel make entry surprisingly easy for a 130-flex boot.

The IF Pro Space liner is the real upgrade over the standard Veloce line. AUTOFIT tongue and collar use memory foam that conforms to your shin and calf shape, and Ankle Sense tech pre-shapes the malleolus pockets asymmetrically so the BOA cables have something meaningful to press against. At 130 flex this is a charger's boot — you need the weight and technique to drive it. If 130 feels like concrete, the Space 120 Dual is the same tech at a more manageable flex.

Strengths

  • +BOA Dual Dial — independent forefoot and cuff adjustment, micro-tunable with gloves
  • +IF Pro Space liner with AUTOFIT memory foam and Ankle Sense for precision heel hold
  • +Quick Fit Panel entry makes getting in/out fast despite 130-flex stiffness

Best For

Expert all-mountain skiers 180lb+ who want top-tier BOA fit technology in a stiff, responsive medium-volume shell.

Limitations

  • 130 flex is expert-only — skiers under 180lb or below advanced level will struggle
  • Premium price at $651 — the Space 120 saves $70 with the same BOA Dual system
  • BOA cables, while reliable, are a wear item to monitor over seasons

Not For

Intermediates, lighter skiers, or anyone who doesn't need 130 flex — the Space 120 Dual is the same platform at a friendlier stiffness.

Common Questions

How does BOA Dual Dial work compared to buckles?
Each side of the boot has two cable loops that connect to one dial. Turning the dial tightens both loops evenly. The lower loop replaces the instep buckle, the upper replaces the cuff buckle. You can release and re-engage with one hand, even with gloves. The pressure is more even than buckles because the cable distributes force across a wider area.
Is the Veloce Space 130 good for touring?
Walk mode and the GripWalk sole make short sidecountry hikes on foot manageable. But it is not a dedicated touring boot — it has no tech inserts, so it cannot be used with pin/tech touring bindings at all, and the weight is higher than purpose-built AT boots. For serious touring, look at the Cabrio MV Free line.
What is Ankle Sense technology?
The liner has asymmetrical, pre-shaped pockets around each ankle bone (malleolus). This gives the BOA cables a contoured surface to press against, which improves sensitivity and reduces the dead spots you get with flat liner walls. It makes the BOA system noticeably more effective.
