The Burton Step On Cartel X is a men's Step On binding on Burton's Re:Flex disc mounting, at a $349.95 MSRP. There are no straps to work: a Step On boot's toe cleats clip into two hooks on the baseplate, its heel cleat locks into a heel clip, and a lever on the heel cup releases the boot.
Burton builds it on a single-component baseplate of a 30% short-glass/nylon composite, adds FullBED cushioning, and sets forward lean with a dial on the hi-back. Burton lists Re:Flex for 4x4, 2x4 and Channel boards; for its pre-2014 3D-pattern boards, Burton sells a 3D Hinge Disc separately. Burton does not publish a weight for it.
It takes men's Step On boots only. It is the wrong binding for riders in regular strap boots, and because Burton keeps men's Step On boots with men's bindings, women's Step On boots are out as well.
