Stöckli Laser WRT Pro Marco Odermatt Edition
By PTO Ski Team, Based on manufacturer data, industry ski tests, and customer feedback · Multiple on-snow sessions on this ski · Various test sites
The take
“Like on rails at high speed — extraordinary edge grip, no swimming, no chatter.”
The Marco Odermatt Edition is the Laser WRT Pro with upgraded sidewalls and base — designed together with the overall World Cup winner and double world champion. Same sidecut, same camber profile, same Carbon Power Turn technology, but with black harder sidewalls (resin + carbon black) for more direct power transfer and a race base with higher graphite content for better glide.
On hardpack, the difference from the standard WRT Pro is subtle but real. The harder sidewalls make power transmission more immediate — when you drive the ski, the response is instant. Reviewers describe it as being "like on rails" at speed, with no swimming and no chatter even on degraded pistes. The Carbon Power Turn inserts around the binding plate deliver explosive acceleration out of each turn.
What surprised reviewers is the versatility within its narrow focus. Despite the 12-16m radius specs, it handles both tight slalom turns and long GS arcs well. Multiple reviewers note it's less tiring than expected for a race-oriented ski, with smooth running that absorbs rough snow rather than transmitting every bump.
The catch is the same as any top-tier race carver: it demands technique, fitness, and speed. This ski needs to be driven. At low speeds or with passive technique, it doesn't come alive. Available in 4 lengths (158-178cm), and a $100 premium over the standard WRT Pro.
If you're already buying a WRT Pro, the Odermatt Edition gives you harder sidewalls and a faster base for a small upcharge. It's the most aggressive ski Stöckli sells to consumers.
