The Kerma Leg Protection JR is the junior shin guard in Kerma's race protection line. Kerma builds its shin guards for slalom, the discipline where the shins are what go through the gate, and points its forearm guards at giant slalom instead. So this is the piece for a kid running SL gates. It is a high-impact polyamide shell over bi-density foam, with hook-and-loop closures so a racer can get in and out of them quickly on their own.
On the certification: Kerma lists it as CE. The spec sheet does not attach an impact class or a standard number to that, so we are not going to quote one. If your club or race series has an equipment rule that names a specific standard, confirm it with them before you order.
This is the junior guard, and we carry it in S. You get two of them, one per shin. Adult racers want the Kerma Leg Protection SR, which is its own product and which we carry in M and L. The JR and the SR are not the same guard in different sizes, so check the title before you add to cart. Shin guards live and die on fit — one that slides down the leg mid-course is worse than useless — so if your racer is between sizes, or growing fast, bring them in and we will fit both on the leg before you commit.
