The Kerma Hand Protection is the pole-mounted guard in Kerma's race line — a high-impact polyamide shell that attaches to the pole shaft and covers the hand. Kerma calls it a full hand guard. They come two to a set, so both poles are covered. The mounting hardware is included, so it goes on with what is in the box. It is a race-room item: this is for people running gates on race poles, not for a day of cruising groomers.
Compatibility is the part to get right before you order. Kerma states that it fits 18mm aluminum shaft poles and will adapt to most other manufacturers' poles. Read that the way it is written — most, not all. If your poles are not 18mm shafts, measure them, or bring them into the shop and we will offer the guard up to them before you pay for anything.
Certification is listed as CE. Kerma does not attach an impact class or a standard number to that on its spec sheet, so we are not quoting one here. If your club or race series has an equipment rule covering guards, check it with them first.
Kerma's forearm guards and shin guards are separate products, each in a junior and an adult version. If you are putting a race kit together from scratch, ask us and we will go through what your program actually asks for before you buy the whole set.
