Description

Atomic's women's Hawx Prime 105 S BOA, listed as the W GW, is an alpine ski boot for strong all-mountain skiers whose feet are average in width and who want a BOA dial in place of lower buckles. It is built on Atomic's 100mm Medium Width / MV last with a 105 flex, comes in Mondopoint sizes 22/22.5 to 27/27.5, and Atomic lists one boot at 1,774 g in size 24/24.5.

The BOA H+i1 system closes the lower shell, wrapping it over the foot, and micro-adjusts in both directions. The cuff is Atomic's women's shape: lower, with more volume in the leg, and removing the AFS Cuff spoiler makes more room for a fuller calf. The rest of the fit work happens in the shop. Atomic's in-store Memory Fit lets a fitter heat the PU shell and cuff and work on pressure points, though heat fitting will not turn this 100mm shell into a narrow or wide one. The Mimic Gold liner is pre-shaped around the heel and ankle, where its heat-moldable Mimic material sits. Power Shift 2.0 sets forward lean and flex independently, and the cantable GripWalk pads let a fitter add canting shims.

Atomic puts this boot at Expert on its three-step skill scale, and it suits groomers and all-mountain days. A skier still building toward advanced turns should start in something softer, such as the Hawx Prime 95 BOA W GW. Skip it if your foot is narrow and low-volume; Atomic's women's Hawx Ultra 105 S BOA puts a 105 flex and BOA on its 98mm last. Skip it too if your foot is wide or high-volume; Atomic's Hawx Magna 105 S W sits on its 102mm wide last. And anyone planning to skin uphill should look elsewhere, since Atomic lists no walk mode.

Atomic's boot-binding listing for this boot reads GripWalk, MN, so have a technician confirm your bindings before you ski these boots.

At PTO we shell-check your foot, heat-fit the shell and liner, and check the boots against your bindings.

Last Width

100mm— Medium (100–101mm)

Within Atomic's women's line, its Hawx Prime 105 S BOA W GW and the Prime 115 S BOA W share most of the boot: the 100mm Medium Width / MV last, BOA H+i1 on the lower shell, Prolite PU construction, Memory Fit, the AFS Cuff and Power Shift 2.0. Atomic files both boots' flex as Hard, marks both Expert, and lists both at 1,774 g per boot at 24/24.5.

What the Prime 105 S BOA W GW gives up to the 115 S is flex number and liner tier. The 115 S gets Mimic Platinum with Power Ankle Lock, which Atomic describes as a dense, asymmetrical liner layer that enhances heel hold. The 105 S uses Mimic Gold, which Atomic calls a blend of foot hold and cushioning.

The Prime 105 S BOA W GW flex label needs one note. Atomic's product text calls it a medium 105 flex, yet the flex attribute on the same page reads Hard and the skill marker sits on Expert. PTO goes by the attribute and the marker. For comparison, Atomic's 2024-season page files the Prime 95 BOA W GW as Medium and marks it Advanced. The 105 is Atomic's in-house number, best compared with other Atomic boots.

A retailer listing for the Black / Stone / Gold boot fills in details Atomic's page leaves out: Power Shift lean settings of 13, 15 (default) and 17 degrees, a 40mm Velcro power strap, 6000-series aluminum buckles, and 3M Thinsulate and a 3D Stretch Toe Box in the liner. Neither source gives a ramp angle or a buckle count for this article.

The Prime 105 S BOA W GW sole is GripWalk on cantable pads, and Atomic lists boot-binding compatibility as GripWalk and MN, which a retailer compatibility guide reads as the Multi Norm label that replaced MNC. A technician confirms your specific binding at fitting. One identification note: Atomic's current Prime 105 S BOA W page shows a newer article in Black / Iron Ore. By model name, season and size labels, this listing matches Atomic's 2025-season article AE5030100, which Atomic showed in Black / Stone / Gold. PTO's listing carries no article number or color, so ask us to confirm the colorway before you order.

Strengths

  • +BOA H+i1 closure micro-adjusts the lower shell both ways
  • +Shell and cuff can be heat-fitted in-store with Memory Fit
  • +Lower women's cuff with extra leg volume and a removable spoiler
  • +Mimic Gold liner is heat-moldable at the heel and ankle
  • +Cantable GripWalk sole pads accept canting shims

Best For

Strong women all-mountain skiers with an average-width, mid-volume foot who want a stiff boot with BOA lower-shell closure and will book a heat-fitting session for the shell, cuff and liner.

Limitations

  • −One 100mm mid-volume last: narrow feet need Ultra, wide feet Magna
  • −Mimic Gold liner, not the 115 S's Platinum with Power Ankle Lock
  • −Hard flex class and Expert rating ask a lot of progressing skiers
  • −Atomic lists no walk mode and publishes no ramp angle

Not For

Narrow, low-volume feet (the 98mm Hawx Ultra 105 S BOA W) and wide, high-volume feet (Atomic's 102mm Hawx Magna 105 S W GW). Skiers still building toward advanced turns, since Atomic files this boot Hard and marks it Expert. Anyone who wants to skin or tour: Atomic lists no walk mode. And anyone whose bindings are not GripWalk or MN rated, unless a technician confirms them.

Common Questions

What size Atomic Hawx Prime 105 S BOA W GW should I get?
Atomic makes the Hawx Prime 105 S BOA W GW in Mondopoint sizes from 22/22.5 through 27/27.5; PTO lists 24/24.5 and 25/25.5. Atomic publishes no per-size fit data beyond its mid-volume 100mm last, so we size it by measuring your foot and checking the shell with the liner out.
Atomic Hawx Prime 105 S BOA W vs 115 S BOA W: what is the difference?
Atomic builds the Hawx Prime 105 S BOA W and 115 S BOA W on the same 100mm last with BOA on the lower shell, files both as Hard and marks both Expert. The 115 S has the higher 115 flex and the Mimic Platinum liner with Power Ankle Lock; Atomic gives the same 1,774 g weight per boot for both, in 24/24.5.
Is the Atomic Hawx Prime 105 S BOA W GW good for intermediate skiers?
Atomic marks the Hawx Prime 105 S BOA W GW Expert on its skill scale and files its 105 flex as Hard. PTO fits it to strong advanced and expert skiers; a skier still progressing should look at the softer Prime 95 BOA W GW, filed Medium on Atomic's 2024-season page.
Is the Atomic Hawx Prime 105 S BOA W GW good for wide or narrow feet?
Atomic's Hawx Prime 105 S BOA W GW uses a mid-volume 100mm last, so a wide or high-volume foot should start in the Hawx Magna 105 S W GW on Atomic's 102mm last. Narrow, low-volume feet belong in Atomic's Hawx Ultra 105 S BOA W, built on its 98mm last. Heat fitting is for pressure points once the shell width is right.
What bindings work with the Atomic Hawx Prime 105 S BOA W GW?
Atomic lists boot-binding compatibility for the Hawx Prime 105 S BOA W GW as GripWalk and MN, and the sole uses cantable GripWalk pads. If you already own bindings, bring them in: a certified technician confirms your binding against the sole at fitting, then sets and tests the release.
