The Burton Step On Re:Flex is a men's strapless snowboard binding built for Step On boots, with a $279.95 MSRP. Nothing buckles: the heel cleat on a Step On boot locks into a heel clip, the two toe cleats snap into spring-loaded hooks, and a lever on the side of the heel cup lets you out.
Underneath, the single-component baseplate is a 30% short-glass/nylon composite, set on Burton's Re:Flex hinged disc. Burton lists Re:Flex for 4x4, 2x4 and Channel boards; boards with Burton's pre-2014 3D pattern need a 3D Hinge Disc that is sold separately. Forward lean is changed by turning two screws inside the hi-back. Burton publishes no weight.
Burton pairs Step On bindings exclusively with Step On boots, sizes the system by gender, and so this men's binding needs men's Step On boots; it is the wrong binding for anyone riding standard strap boots. Of the four men's Step On bindings in our 26/27 comparison set, Burton's Step On Re:Flex has the lowest MSRP; its Personality tier is Happy Medium, the middle of Burton's three. If your boots are already men's Step On models, this is the plain way in.
One long-term independent review follows the Step On Re:Flex through 25/26; Burton's 26/27 spec sheet matches that version. It found the binding more responsive than most strap bindings, put the hi-back on the stiff side of medium, and rated shock absorption very good but not especially damp. It also found no stance-width adjustment on insert boards and very limited boot-to-binding adjustment.
The Step On X ($479.95) brings Burton's Stiff & Aggressive tier and Heel Grabber, the Step On Cartel X ($349.95) swaps this binding's lean screws for a dial, and the Step On Cartel X EST ($349.95) puts that tier on Channel-only EST mounting.

Step On connection
Burton's three-point connection: two toe hooks, one heel clip and a self-resetting release lever. Per Burton's manual, Step On bindings are not designed to release or to prevent injury.
Re:Flex mounting
Burton's hinged disc, which it says improves board flex and feel while cutting weight. Burton's Step On manual lists 4x4, 3D and The Channel as compatible; boards with Burton's old 3D pattern need the 3D Hinge Disc, which is not included.
Single-Component Baseplate
A baseplate made of one material, which Burton says keeps response and feel consistent.
Step On FLAD
Burton's screw-set lean adjuster: a #2 Phillips screwdriver changes the hi-back angle. Burton: more lean for a quicker, more active response, less for a more relaxed one.
Gas Pedal
An adjustable toe ramp that Burton's manual says to match to your boot size before mounting, to cut toe drag and help the toe cleats engage.
Two-position heel clip
Burton's manual gives the heel clip an initial position that still locks with snow under your boot and a final riding position that needs extra heel pressure. Both hold fully, per Burton, though the first can allow more boot movement.
