The Burton Highshot Plus Step On is a men's Step On® snowboard boot with two-zone Dual Zone BOA® lacing, Burton's Imprint™ 3 liner and its Focus Cuff; Burton calls it a completely new design and describes the flex as medium-stiff. It lists at US$449.95 for 26/27.
Step On® does away with binding straps: two toe cleats and a heel cleat on the boot click into a Step On binding, and a clip at the back of the boot keeps pant cuffs away from the heel cleat. Burton's Dual Zone BOA® gives the upper and lower parts of the shell their own lace zone and dial. The Imprint™ 3 liner is heat-moldable and closes with hook-and-loop, and Burton credits it with moisture management plus lightweight power panels for response and support. The Focus Cuff sits a little higher on the ankle to boost heel hold. Underfoot is Burton's Step On™ outsole, with an EST®-optimized midsole and rubber carrying 20% recycled content, and 3M™ Thinsulate™ insulation adds warmth. Burton's warranty is one year.
Burton's tagline calls the flex playful, while the Product Features section says medium-stiff, and the Personality rating is Happy Medium, the setting Burton pitches at riders who ride a bit of everything. Burton bills the Highshot Plus Step On as all-new for 26/27, and at US$449.95 it sits between the one-dial Highshot and the Highshot X among Burton's four men's Highshot Step On boots. Against the Highshot, the Plus adds a second BOA® zone, an Imprint™ 3 liner in place of the Imprint™ 2 and a Focus Cuff in place of the Lock-Up Cuff for US$100 more, on the same listed outsole and Thinsulate™ insulation.
Burton's own page describes the Highshot Plus's flex in more than one way: the tagline promises a playful flex, the description a powerful one, and the feature copy calls it medium-stiff and ties it to the previous Ruler Step On. Burton rates it Happy Medium, as it does the Highshot, and publishes no flex number, so flex it on your own foot before you decide.
