The Stage 6 Duraflex ST baseplate is Union's most popular freestyle platform: mid-flex throughout, so you can actually feel the board work underfoot rather than sitting on a stiff platform that kills the snowboard's natural profile. The Strata Duraflex ST highback is asymmetrical and relatively unmassive, which means less interference when you're tweaking grabs or pressing. The OTE Fused Vaporlite 2.0 cushioning system handles vibration damping without going mushy — trail chop stays manageable without turning the binding into a sponge. Straps are where Union has quietly improved this year: the Forma Hybrid ankle strap wraps heel-to-toe with a stiffer outer shell and softer liner, holding your boot without hotspots, and the TS 2.1 toe strap is multi-positional so you can cap over the toe box or strap across the foot depending on your boot. Mounting uses Union's Mini Disc, which is compatible with standard 2x4 (two-hole) patterns and Burton Channel boards — it does not span a 4x4 pattern, so if your board only has 4x4 inserts you'll need to check stance width options carefully before buying.
