The Tecnica Mach1 HV 130 is a 130-flex, four-buckle overlap alpine boot built around a 103mm last — that wide platform is the whole point. Where most performance boots in this flex range assume a narrower, lower-volume foot, Tecnica engineered the Mach1 HV shell with extra width and volume through the forefoot and instep so that a powerful skier with a genuinely wide foot does not have to live with pressure points or a compromised fit just to access stiff flex. The four micro-adjustable aluminum buckles with Lift Lock give you genuine micro-tuning across the forefoot and ankle, and the 45mm elastic power strap locks the upper cuff without killing blood flow. Inside, the C.A.S. (Custom Adaptive Shape) liner is heat-moldable — at 80°C for eight minutes, it wraps your specific foot shape rather than relying on break-in time alone. The shell itself carries the same C.A.S. dimple geometry that makes spot grinding and punching far more controlled when a bootfitter needs to open up a specific pressure area. T-Drive, the carbon connector running the spine of the boot, extends the lever arm between lower shell and upper cuff, which translates to a faster edge-to-edge response and a more progressive, consistent flex arc rather than a sudden stiff wall at the end of the stroke. GripWalk-certified soles give you noticeably safer footing on hardpack and pavement between the car and the lift. There is no walk mode — this is a resort-focused alpine boot.

This boot is made for strong, aggressive skiers who also happen to have a wide, high-volume foot — think E-width or wider with a pronounced instep — and who ski hard enough to need a 130 flex, not just want it. If you are an expert skier but your foot runs narrow or medium-volume, the Mach1 LV or MV line fits your anatomy better and will perform better because the shell is not working against you. If you are an intermediate-to-strong-intermediate skier looking to push yourself, a 130 flex in any volume will work against you: a stiffer boot demands continuous, committed pressure to engage correctly, and a skier who is still developing technique will fatigue quickly and lose control before the boot does its job. In that case, the Mach1 HV 110 or 120 gives you the same wide last with a more forgiving flex.
