The Rossignol Pure Comfort 60 is a women's-specific entry-level boot built around one priority: getting someone onto the mountain comfortably, without fighting their gear. The flex index of 60 is genuinely soft — that's intentional. It lets the boot move with the skier rather than demanding the skier push through it, which is exactly right for someone still building their stance and edge sense. The 104 mm last is a high-volume, relaxed-fit shell; the wider forefoot and roomier toe box mean this is one of the few production boots where someone with a naturally wider or higher-volume foot can buckle up without the kind of pain that sends people home early. Four aluminum micro-adjustable buckles with a 40 mm powerstrap give you enough closure range to dial in the fit without overcranking, and the diagonal cuff buckle with its three-position adjustment lets you fine-tune how the cuff wraps your lower leg — a useful tool when you're working with a new skier who's still finding her natural stance. The liner is heat-moldable, so the first time we get these on a customer we can run a quick custom fit session and knock out most of the break-in discomfort from day one. It's an insulated, warm liner that holds its shape well, so it won't pack out and go loose after a few days. One thing to plan for: the boot is GripWalk-compatible but ships without the GripWalk soles — those rubber-treaded soles are sold separately, so factor that in if your bindings need them, and have us confirm sole-to-binding compatibility before you ski.

This boot is for the beginning recreational skier — someone taking lessons, returning after years off the hill, or skiing a handful of times a season on groomed terrain. If that describes you and you have average-to-wide feet, come in and we'll get you fitted. Where this boot does not belong: on the foot of someone skiing aggressively, handling variable or ungroomed snow, or progressing quickly past the beginner stage. A flex 60 will feel floppy and unresponsive once a skier starts skiing with any real commitment — it won't give you the feedback or support to make clean turns. If that's you, you want more flex, not just a different fit — step up to a stiffer 90-to-100-flex boot like Rossignol's Pure Pro line and we'll match the flex to how hard you actually ski. The width problem is separate: narrow-footed or low-volume skiers will find 104 mm too sloppy side-to-side no matter how tight they crank the buckles, and the fix there isn't more flex — it's a narrower shell. For those feet we'd put you in a low- or medium-volume last in the 98-to-100 mm range at a comfort-oriented flex. Either way, the right move is a fitting: bring your foot in and we'll match the shell volume and flex to what your foot and your skiing actually need rather than guessing off a model name.
