The Escaper IMPACTS is Rossignol's crossover helmet — built for the person who bootpacks to a couloir before lapping the resort, or who treats a lift-accessed mountain as a staging ground for something bigger. The shell is glue-on polycarbonate, which keeps weight down without the bulk of hardshell construction. The liner uses Rossignol's own IMPACTS technology, an expanded polypropylene foam designed to hold its protective properties through repeated impacts over a season of regular use — not just a single hit. Ventilation is permanent rather than adjustable, airflow channels between liner layers so the venting is always open. The Dial R-Fit system lets you dial in the fit without taking your gloves off, and the Fidlock magnetic buckle clips one-handed. Triple-certified: CE-EN 1077 (alpine ski), ASTM F-2040 (alpine ski), and CE-EN 12492 (mountaineering), so it legally covers you on roped glacier travel as well as the chairlift.
Skip this one if you want adjustable vents for cold bluebird days where you'd rather shut airflow down entirely — the permanent venting means it runs on the airier side. It's also not the helmet for someone who wants a visor, integrated audio, or MIPS-style rotational impact management. No visor, no MIPS. What it is: a clean, lightweight, genuinely mountain-capable lid for skiers who move between piste and backcountry and need a helmet that's certified for both without being a dedicated mountaineering shell.
