The Orka Visor is Salomon's entry point for kids who need a helmet with a built-in visor — no separate goggles to lose, no goggle-helmet gap to deal with. In-mold construction bonds a polycarbonate shell to an EPS liner, keeping weight down (around 435g) without sacrificing the CE EN 1077 / ASTM F2040 certification. The Custom Dial fit system lets you dial in the fit in seconds, which matters when a kid's head grows or they're in a hurry to get on the lift. The visor is interchangeable, so if the lens gets scratched or the light changes, you can swap it. Liner pulls out and washes, which — with kids — you will use.
It does not have MIPS or any rotational-impact liner system, so if that's a must-have for you, look at a step-up model. Ventilation is passive — fixed vents, no slider — which is fine for most resort days but won't give you the airflow control of a more adjustable helmet. This is a solid, no-drama junior helmet for all-mountain resort skiing. Adults and helmet purists who want active vent control or rotational-impact tech should look elsewhere.
