The take

The light way into Völkl all-mountain — and it's on clearance.

The Blaze 94 is the wider version of Völkl's lightweight all-mountain line. 94mm waist with the 4 Radius Drive sidecut from the M7 Mantra, but without the titanal. At 1,690g in the 179, it's shockingly light — over 350g lighter than the M7 Mantra per ski. You can ski this thing all day without your legs complaining.

The trade-off is the same as the Blaze 86: no metal means less dampening and less edge hold. In chop and crud at speed, the M7 Mantra is a different league. But at moderate speeds in mixed conditions — which is how most people actually ski — the Blaze 94 is surprisingly capable.

The 4 Radius Drive sidecut is the highlight. Four radii in one ski means easy turn initiation, stable mid-turn, and clean release. It's technology that makes the ski feel more versatile than its construction level suggests.

As a clearance item, this is arguably the best value in the Völkl lineup right now. Light, versatile, 94mm width, with premium sidecut technology. For intermediate skiers or lighter advanced skiers who don't need the Mantra's authority, the Blaze 94 is a smart buy.
