The Four AMID Pro CTD is Atomic's top-of-line all-mountain helmet — the same low-profile, hybrid hard-shell construction as the standard Four AMID Pro, with one addition: Shocksense smart-helmet technology. Shocksense uses five built-in impact-detection zones to track where your helmet takes hits and how hard. Connect it to the app and it tells you whether the helmet is still structurally sound after a fall, or whether it's time to replace it. If an impact exceeds a set force threshold, it automatically sends your GPS location to your emergency contacts. That's the CTD (Connected Tracking Device) part — useful if you ski alone or push into bigger terrain. The shell pairs an ABS hard-shell upper with polycarbonate injection on the sides and an in-mold lower, and adds Atomic's AMID foam (Atomic Multi-directional Impact Deflector) alongside a Holo Core layer for multi-directional impact management. Fit comes via a 360° dial and Live Fit Pads that mold to your head shape. The Fidlock magnetic buckle is quick and glove-friendly. Meets ASTM F2040 and EN 1077 Class B.
Who shouldn't buy it: if you ski groomed runs at a family resort and want something simple and cheap, the technology here is wasted — grab the standard Four AMID instead and save money. The CTD features genuinely matter if you ski off-piste alone, guide, or want post-crash data rather than just guessing whether your helmet is still good. It's also a full-featured adult helmet; it does not come in a women's-specific or junior fit, so younger or smaller-headed riders should check sizing carefully before ordering.
