Description
Atomic's Savor AMID is an adult piste and all-mountain ski helmet without a visor, worn with a separate goggle. Atomic states its helmets meet the EN 1077 and ASTM F2040 standards; this one pairs Atomic's AMID impact system with an ABS shell built in two pieces, weighs 490 g in size S, and is made for 51 to 65 cm head circumference, with this listing carrying Black in 51–55, 55–59 and 59–63 cm.
AMID stands for Atomic Multi-directional Impact Deflector. Atomic credits AMID and the shell, working together, with impact protection up to 40% above industry standards, and adds a Holo Core, an extended crumple zone it says gives up to 30% more shock absorption. Both figures are Atomic's own. The Savor AMID page does not explain how AMID works or name the EN 1077 class, and no Mips is listed.
Inside, the height-adjustable 360° Fit System and Live Fit pads set the size and mold to your head. You open and close the Active Aircon vents by hand. Atomic lists the 3D-molded ear pads as audio compatible, and the 3M X-Static lining is one Atomic describes as anti-microbial and anti-odor.
Skip the Savor AMID if you would rather have the goggle built in: the Savor AMID Visor HD builds an HD visor onto this helmet's AMID, Holo Core and ABS recipe. Skip it too if weight matters, or if you want a washable liner, a magnetic buckle and a helmet bag on paper; Atomic lists all of those on the Revent AMID, which it puts at 450 g for size S. Heads over 63 cm will not find a size in this listing.
Bring your goggle when you come in. We measure your head, set the fit system and check how the brim meets your goggle frame before the helmet goes home.

The Atomic Savor AMID is a plain piste helmet: a two-piece ABS hard shell with Atomic’s AMID and Holo Core, vents you set by hand, and no visor, so your goggle does the eye work. It suits a skier who wants a hard outer shell and a simple fit and does not need a list of extras.
The Savor AMID, the Revent AMID and the Savor AMID Visor HD all list AMID and Holo Core. Their certification paperwork differs. The Revent AMID’s datasheet gives EN 1077 Class B, while the Savor AMID page carries no certification row and no class, leaving Atomic’s general statement that its helmets meet EN 1077 and ASTM F2040. If a stated class matters to you, that tips toward the Revent AMID.
Sizing the Savor AMID starts with head circumference in centimeters. Atomic’s four sizes share end points at 55, 59 and 63 cm, and Atomic gives no rule for a head right on one; we fit the size whose 360° Fit System closes snugly with no pressure points. Atomic makes the Black helmet up to 65 cm, but this listing stops at 59–63 cm. The Savor AMID page says nothing about goggle fit, so bring yours and we check the gap between brim and frame with it on.

Limitations
- −Atomic’s Savor AMID page names no test behind 40% or 30%
- −Atomic’s Savor AMID page does not state the EN 1077 class
- −Weighs 490 g in size S; the Revent AMID lists 450 g
- −Atomic’s page lists no washable liner, buckle type or helmet bag
- −This listing stops at 59–63 cm, with no 63–65 cm size
Not For
Skiers who want helmet and goggle in one piece (the Savor AMID Visor HD has the visor), anyone who wants a lighter helmet or a removable liner, Fidlock buckle and helmet bag listed on paper (Atomic lists those on the Revent AMID), Mips shoppers (no Mips is listed), and heads under 51 cm or over 63 cm in this listing.

Common Questions
- Atomic Savor AMID vs Revent AMID: what is the difference?
- The Atomic Savor AMID uses a two-piece ABS hard shell, while the Revent AMID is built on an In-Mold Dual Shell with its EPS foam molded into a polycarbonate outer. Atomic lists the Savor AMID at 490 g and the Revent AMID at 450 g in size S. A washable liner, Fidlock buckle, helmet bag and EN 1077 Class B appear on the Revent AMID’s datasheet.
- What size Atomic Savor AMID should I get?
- The Atomic Savor AMID comes in S 51–55, M 55–59, L 59–63 and XL 63–65 cm head circumference, and this listing carries S, M and L in Black. Measure your head circumference first. On a shared end point, pick the size the 360° Fit System closes snugly without pressure points.
- What certifications does the Atomic Savor AMID have?
- The Atomic Savor AMID is covered by Atomic’s helmet guide, which names EN 1077 and ASTM F2040 as the standards Atomic helmets meet, though the model’s page leaves the EN 1077 class unstated. AMID and the Holo Core are Atomic’s own impact systems added on top, not certifications. Atomic lists no Mips for this helmet.
- Is the Atomic Savor AMID good for beginners?
- The Atomic Savor AMID works for adult beginners as well as experienced skiers, because a helmet is chosen by fit rather than ability. What decides it is head size, the goggle you wear and whether you want the ABS shell or a lighter in-mold one. A fitting in the shop settles all three.
- Atomic Savor AMID vs Savor AMID Visor HD: which should I choose?
- The Atomic Savor AMID has no visor and is worn with your own goggle, at 490 g in size S. The Savor AMID Visor HD shares its AMID, Holo Core and two-piece shell with the Savor AMID but puts an HD visor on top, with an 8 mm setting for glasses, at 650 g in size S. Choose by whether you want the goggle built in.
