The Smith Survey Jr. MIPS is a youth snow helmet built around two impact systems working together: MIPS reduces rotational forces from angled hits, while Zonal Koroyd inserts absorb direct energy and keep the helmet light. The in-mold shell fuses the outer layer and EPS foam into a single piece—less bulk, more durability for kids who are harder on gear than they realize. The Grow With Me dual-stage liner adjusts as your child's head develops, so you're not buying a new helmet every season. Fourteen vents with one-handed Regulator control let kids dial airflow on the fly, and the removable Snapfit ear pads swap in and out when the weather changes.
The integrated visor is the headline feature for younger skiers: no goggles to lose on the chairlift, distortion-free clarity, and over-the-glasses (OTG) fit for kids who wear prescription lenses. Certified to ASTM F2040 and CE EN 1077 Class B. If your kid already has a goggle setup they love and doesn't want a visor, the adult Survey MIPS is worth a look instead. Also not the right call for older teens whose heads have stopped growing—the Grow With Me liner is sized for youth proportions (YS: 48–53 cm, YM: 53–58 cm).
