The Smith Method Pro MIPS is a lightweight in-mold ski and snowboard helmet built around two impact systems working together: Zonal KOROYD absorbs energy on contact, and MIPS redirects rotational forces from angled impacts. The result is a well-rounded resort helmet that doesn't sacrifice weight for protection. Eight fixed vents pair with Smith's AirEvac system to pull air through your goggles rather than letting them fog — it works best, as you'd expect, with Smith goggles. The micro-adjustable dial lets you dial fit on the hill with gloves on, the magnetic chin buckle closes one-handed, and the Snapfit SL2 ear pads are removable when you don't need them. This Round Contour Fit version is shaped for rounder head profiles; if your head runs oval, the standard fit will serve you better.
It's certified to ASTM F2040 and CE EN 1077 Class B, which covers general alpine skiing use. Class B (not Class A) means it meets the standard for recreational resort riding but is not rated for the higher-speed, higher-energy impacts that a Class A helmet addresses. If you're primarily a resort skier or snowboarder — groomed runs, park laps, tree skiing at normal speeds — this helmet fits the job. It's not the call for dedicated race training or particularly aggressive big-mountain objectives, where a Class A certified lid makes more sense. Audio-chip compatible with Aleck systems if that matters to you.
