The Nitro Alternator is a directional all-mountain snowboard built on full camber, and it is squarely a board for charging: Nitro shapes it to be pointed and driven rather than buttered around. The width tells the story before anything else — every length is mid-wide or wide, from a 252 mm waist at the 154 up to a 264 mm waist at the 162.
Under the topsheet it is a stiff, responsive build. True Camber supplies the pop and grip, a Reflex Core Profile is Nitro's shaped core aimed at torsional control, Carbon Tape adds snap, and Bi-Lite glass sits over a Powerlite core. A Dual Degressive sidecut pairs a tighter center radius with larger radii at the tip and tail, so the board bites into a turn but exits smoothly. The base is the fastest in Nitro's range — a sintered Speed Formula II that stays quick as long as you keep it waxed.
The width is a deliberate trade. A mid-wide-or-wider platform keeps normal-to-large boots from hanging as far off the edge and rides stable underfoot, but there is no standard-width Alternator, so a small-footed rider chasing the quickest edge-to-edge feel is not who Nitro built this for.
This is an advanced board. Full camber and a stiff 8/10 flex (Nitro's scale) reward an engaged rider and give little back to a lazy back foot, so beginners and park-first riders should look elsewhere. Boards ship flat: we mount your bindings, set your stance, and match the length to your weight and boots in the shop.
