Not for: Intermediate skiers, bumps, powder, or casual cruising. If you want more forgiveness, look at the Laser SC. If you want maximum stiffness, step up to the WRT Pro.

The Laser WRT is Stöckli's World Cup race tech in a ski you can actually buy — a 66mm slalom-meets-GS carver built for one thing: laying down precise, high-speed arcs on firm groomers. A sandwich wood core with titanal plus Stöckli's Carbon Power Turn and Carbon Steering Control gives it the on-rails grip and the snap of acceleration out of the turn that a softer recreational carver can't touch.
It's a demanding ski for advanced-to-expert skiers who drive a ski hard and ski groomers fast — the slightly more forgiving sibling to the WRT Pro, responding to input a touch more readily at sane speeds. It is not an all-mountain ski: at 66mm and camber-dominant, it's pure piste. If you're still developing your carving, want to ski off-piste, or see any soft snow, this is the wrong tool.

The take
“If you love carving arcs at speed, the Laser WRT is your rocket ship.”
The Laser WRT is Stöckli's race-bred carving platform — close to the WRT Pro but with a slightly more accessible construction. (We could not read a current sidecut off Stöckli's WRT Pro page, so we no longer claim the two share one.) It still has titanal top and bottom sheets, Carbon Power Turn inserts under the binding area, and Carbon Steering Control for torsional rigidity. It's a serious ski.
On hardpack groomers, the WRT locks in and holds. The independent testing we found describes the ride as smooth, composed, and silent at speed — the signature Stöckli feel. The Carbon Power Turn technology stores energy through the arc and releases it at turn exit, giving that explosive acceleration out of each turn that makes you question how fast you're actually going.
Compared to the WRT Pro, the standard WRT uses regular titanal instead of Titanal Technology Pro, making it slightly softer and more forgiving without sacrificing the core character. It's still a demanding ski that rewards active, centered technique and punishes passive skiing. But the entry point is lower — both in skill and price.
Compared to the Laser SC, the WRT is stiffer, narrower (66mm vs 70mm), and more race-focused. The SC is the all-day cruiser; the WRT is the ski you grab when you want to push.
