The Orka Visor is Salomon's entry-level junior helmet for kids who want goggles built right in. The integrated Flash visor snaps into place so there's no fumbling with separate goggles on a cold morning — the RED lens (Category 2, 35% VLT) handles partly cloudy to mixed-light days and blocks 100% UV. Construction is in-mold: a polycarbonate shell fused to an EPS liner, which keeps weight around 435g — light enough that kids actually leave it on all day. The Custom Dial adjusts at the back for a quick, gloveable fit on a growing head. Certified to EN 1077 / ASTM F2040. No MIPS or rotational-impact technology is included at this price point.
Sized KS through KL (49–59 cm), this is built for younger resort riders just finding their feet on green and blue runs — the kid who needs something simple, comfortable, and fuss-free. It's not the right call for a teenager heading into the park, or for parents who specifically want a rotational-impact system; look at helmets that include MIPS for that. The lens is swappable but sold separately, so if your kid skis a lot of bluebird days, factor in a second lens.
