The Orka Visor is Salomon's all-in-one junior helmet — in-mold construction (lightweight PC shell bonded to EPS liner) with a built-in Flash visor so your kid isn't hunting for goggles at the base lodge. The visor swaps out tool-free and comes with a Category 2 (S2) blue Flash lens at 25% VLT — a middle-of-the-road, partly-cloudy tint: too dark for true storm flat-light, and not dark enough for bright bluebird glare. If your kid skis a lot of clear high-sun days, swap in a darker Cat 3 lens. The included visor offers 100% UV protection. Fit is dialed in with Salomon's Custom Dial system, now integrated into the liner rather than tacked on the back — that means a more stable adjustment as heads grow through the season. Passive ventilation keeps things simple. No MIPS or rotational-impact technology in this model. Certified to CE EN 1077 and ASTM F2040. The liner is fully removable and machine-washable, which matters more than people think after a full week of ski camp.
Sized for kids — three shell sizes (KS 49–53 cm, KM 53–56 cm, KL 56–59 cm) — and genuinely useful for a kid who wears glasses, since the visor works OTG. It's a no-frills resort lid aimed at young recreational skiers and snowboarders. If your kid is doing serious bumps, race training, or park laps with big air, step up to a helmet with a hard outer shell or rotational protection. And if they already have goggles they love, the integrated visor means those goggles stay in the bag — that's either a feature or a dealbreaker depending on the kid.
