PTO Verdict

Award-winning women's park twin — makes snowboarding easier, more fun, and more creative no matter your skill level.

Best for: Beginner to intermediate women who want a fun, forgiving board for park and all-mountain. Freestyle-focused riders who value presses, butters, and creative riding over speed and carving.

Not for: Advanced riders who want aggressive carving or high-speed stability. Powder-focused riders. Riders who want maximum pop for big jumps — look at the Birds of a Feather.

Description

The Space Metal Fantasy is Capita's women's-specific park and freestyle twin, built around their Park V2 profile — a flat zero-camber section through the binding inserts that gives you that stable, skate-style platform underfoot, with rocker lifted into the tip and tail. That profile is what makes this thing so approachable: the raised contact points mean you're not catching edges mid-butter, and the twin shape means nollie and fakie ride identically. At a 4/10 flex, the Dual Core (poplar blended with beech) keeps it light and poppy without going full noodle — there's enough snap to pop off lips and send small-to-medium kickers without the board collapsing under you. The Superdrive sintruded base (a hardened, low-maintenance base that shrugs off jib abuse better than a plain extruded one) pairs with the Magic Bean resin construction to keep the overall swing weight low, which matters when you're spinning.

This board is aimed at beginner-to-intermediate women riders who want to learn park skills, build their jib game, or ride a playful twin that rewards buttering and switch runs without punishing them when they're still figuring things out. If you're progressing through green and blue runs, starting to explore the park, or just want a fun, low-consequence board for resort laps — this is a strong choice. Who should not buy it: if you're already a solid intermediate or above, ride hard snow regularly, or want to charge groomers and hit big features, the soft flex and rocker profile will feel loose and chattery at speed, and you'll outgrow it fast. For all-mountain riding with real versatility — a hybrid camber that carves and floats powder — look at the Capita Paradise instead, which gives you more edge hold and stability without abandoning freestyle capability.

The take

Award-winning women's park twin — makes snowboarding easier, more fun, and more creative no matter your skill level.

The Space Metal Fantasy is the park twin CAPiTA builds for lighter riders, and the 2026 model doesn't mess with the formula. The Park V2 camber profile puts flat/zero camber through the insert area for a stable, skate-style feel, with reverse camber at the contact points for catch-free turn initiation and effortless pressing.

The soft flex (4/10) is the defining characteristic. This board responds to light inputs, makes butters and presses accessible, and forgives mistakes that stiffer boards punish. The Poppy Dual Core (Poplar + Beech) delivers enough pop for jumps and side hits without requiring heavy pre-loading — it's easy to access the energy.

On groomers, the SMF handles itself for casual cruising but doesn't pretend to be a carving board. In the park, it excels — rails, boxes, small-to-medium jumps, and creative flatground tricks are where this board shines. The true twin rides identically switch, essential for park progression.

The sintruded Superdrive base is low-maintenance and durable — it can take park abuse without worrying about base repairs. The 2026 model is a graphics refresh only; when your board has won awards and earned a loyal following, you don't change the formula.

Comes in a wide standard size range plus wide options — one of the widest women's size ranges in CAPiTA's lineup.
