The Burton Lexa X EST is a women's two-strap snowboard binding at $349.95 that mounts only to boards with Burton's Channel. Burton rates it Stiff & Aggressive, the stiffest of its three Personality tiers, which it describes as a stiffer flex that locks in at speed for response and precision, and it gives no numeric flex figure.
EST means no disc and no hardware under your foot: the binding bolts to The Channel at two outboard points, and Burton says that more direct connection lets you feel more of what the board is doing while leaving stance options wide open. On top sits a single-component 30% short-glass/nylon composite baseplate, an Asym Hammockstrap ankle strap and a Supergrip Capstrap 2.0 toe strap on Double Take buckles, a Heel Hammock that Burton credits with a snug heel and no slip, DialFLAD lean that goes down to zero, and FullBED cushioning.
Burton calls it the team's favorite and aims it at riders who want maximum board feel and total stance customization, through variable snow, on technical features and in every turn. It is the wrong binding for any board without The Channel, which rules out 2x4, 4x4 and 3D boards, and for a rider who wants a soft, forgiving feel. Strapless entry is a separate system, Burton's Step On, with Step On boots.

Burton's Lexa X EST and Lexa X Re:Flex share the Stiff & Aggressive rating, the $349.95 price and the listed straps, buckles, Heel Hammock and DialFLAD, so the main difference between them is the mount. Burton's own Re:Flex guide says Re:Flex is not quite at EST's level for board feel, and the EST page goes further: "If you're riding a Burton board, this is the Lexa X to get."
That line needs one qualifier. EST fits only boards with The Channel, and Burton's own 26/27 Cultivator Flat Top lists 4x2 inserts instead. A rider on a 2x4 or 4x4 board, or with several boards drilled differently, is better served by the Re:Flex version.
The other three Burton women's strap bindings we review for 26/27 are Happy Medium Re:Flex models. The EST makes sense only if you want a stiff binding and ride a Channel board.

EST mounting
Burton's disc-free mount: two outboard mounting points on The Channel and no hardware underfoot. Burton says it adds a cushioning footbed for board feel and unrestricted stance options, and that it works only on boards featuring The Channel.
Single-Component Baseplate
One material throughout. Burton says this gives consistent response and feel on any terrain.
DialFLAD with Living Hinge
A rotating dial sets forward lean, down to zero on this hi-back. Burton says the zero-lean hi-back and FullBED cushioning together balance comfort with quick, responsive control.
Heel Hammock
Part of the hi-back. Burton says it gives a snug fit on the boot heel for no heel slip and a fast response.
Double Take Buckles
Buckles with dual-sided tongue teeth that Burton says help support quicker engagement and give faster strap uptake, so tightening takes fewer cranks.
