The Navis Freebird is Black Crows' do-everything touring ski — a 102mm all-rounder that balances climbing efficiency with a genuine alpine feel on the descent. A paulownia-poplar core with carbon and fiberglass keeps it light for the skin track, and a titanal plate in the binding area adds screw retention for hybrid bindings rather than making it a heavy metal ski. Long camber underfoot with a progressive front rocker and tail gives it real edge hold and carving stability on firm snow, while the 102mm width and rocker still float and pivot in soft snow and tight terrain.
It suits a backcountry skier who wants one ski for everything from long-distance tours to quick backcountry laps, and who values downhill confidence over pure featherweight. At 102mm it's a versatile mid-width tourer — for dedicated deep-snow days go wider (the Draco Freebird), and for fast-and-light spring missions the narrower Orb Freebird is leaner. Intermediate-to-advanced touring ability gets the most from it.
