The take

The benchmark playful big-mountain ski. Year after year, nothing else balances float and fun quite like this.

The Atris has been a benchmark in the 105mm freeride class for good reason. Poplar core, fiberglass, no metal -- simple construction, but the shape and flex pattern do the heavy lifting. The 2022-23 overhaul trimmed the waist from 108 to 105mm, shortened the rocker, and softened the flex slightly. Since then it has been unchanged, and the 25/26 is a graphic update only.

What makes the Atris special is how it balances big-mountain stability with genuine playfulness. At speed in variable snow, the poplar core gives it a dense, energetic feel and the fiberglass adds enough torsional stiffness to hold an edge. But it is not stiff and punishing like a metal-laminate charger. It invites you to slash, pivot, pop off features, and surf through soft snow. The 138mm tip with rocker provides real float without making the ski feel floppy.

On groomers it is serviceable but not exciting -- 105mm is wide for edge-to-edge, and 20m radius means big sweeping turns. This is a freeride ski that happens to survive on hardpack, not the other way around. If your mountain gets consistent snowfall and you want one ski that handles steep terrain, trees, chop, and powder with a smile, the Atris delivers.

Compared to the Nordica Enforcer Unlimited, the Atris is lighter, more maneuverable, and more playful, but gives up damping in truly nasty chop. Against the Moment Wildcat 108, it is more refined and easier to ski.

Bindings we'd pair with it

Mount point: Flat mount. Our pick: Look Pivot 15 GW.

  • Look Pivot 15 GWBig mountain / aggressive skiing

Legendary elasticity absorbs impacts without pre-releasing. The go-to for aggressive freeride skiing.

  • Marker Griffon 13 IDAll-mountain versatility

Reliable mid-DIN option. Lighter than the Pivot, works well for most advanced skiers.

  • Look SPX 13 GWLighter setup / value

Full-metal toe and heel, lighter build. Good match to keep swing weight down on a wide ski.

Big ski for committed terrain. DIN 13-14 recommended for most riders.
