Union Cadet Mini Snowboard Bindings 26/27

The 26/27 Union Cadet Mini is a soft kids snowboard binding built around the boot range between Union’s Cadet One and standard Cadet. Union rates it at flex 3 on its own 10-point scale and publishes an even 5/10 across Performance, All-Mountain, Freestyle and Freeride. Those are Union’s scores, not PTO test results. The useful reading is simple: this is a neutral, forgiving first binding, not a miniature high-performance chassis.

The storefront size is XS, while Union’s kids chart names the same range MINI: US Kids 11C through 3K; the matching chart rows span EU 28–34 and Mondo 17.5–21. Buy from the child’s snowboard boot, never age or rider weight. A boot below 11C belongs in the Cadet One; once the boot moves beyond 3K, the standard Cadet is the next size step. The wrong binding size cannot hold the boot correctly.

Board fit is broad. The Universal V2 Disk supports Burton 3D and Channel boards as well as 4x2 and 4x4 inserts. Underfoot, the S5 Mini Duraflex baseplate and Cadet XS highback keep movement easy, while EXT Thermoformed EVA adds basic cushioning. Scaled ankle and toe straps make this a conventional two-strap setup, so each run still begins with two ratchets.

Choose the Cadet Mini for a young rider learning first turns or starting to explore the hill, provided the boot lands inside the MINI range. Skip it for an advanced child who wants a firm platform, for a boot outside that range, or for anyone expecting step-in entry.
