This is a base cleaner, not a glide wax — it strips old glide wax out of your ski base so the next application can actually bond. The process takes a few more steps than just wiping and moving on, but they matter: spray it on the glide zone, work it through with Fiberlene, then while the base is still wet scrub it with a white nylon brush. Wipe it dry with a fresh piece of Fiberlene, let the base sit for five to ten minutes, then give it a light pass with a wire or roto brush before you iron in fresh wax. The formula is gentle enough that it won't roughen or stress your base structure, which matters if you're waxing regularly through a long season. It handles both fluorinated wax residue and standard universal waxes. At 150 ml with a pump-spray applicator, it's the right size to keep in a wax kit without taking up much bench space.
This is a glide-zone-only product — don't use it in the kick zone on classic skis. It won't replace a full hot-scrape cleaning if your base is heavily contaminated or oxidized; for a truly dirty base you'll still want to start with an iron and scraper. But as a regular between-sessions cleaning step before rewaxing, it does the job cleanly without harsh solvents. Skip it if you wax infrequently and just want a simple base cleaner aerosol — Swix makes cheaper options for that.
