Description
The Salomon Rhythm is a soft two-strap snowboard binding for beginner to intermediate riders, built around an asymmetrical baseplate and highback. Retail spec sheets rate the flex soft (2 of 5 on one scale, 4 of 10 on another), and it mounts on a Universal Disc with Salomon's IMS (Integrated Mounting System). Dealer listings print 4x4, 2x4 and Channel for that disc; our technician confirms the fit on your board when we mount it.
The asymmetry is the whole idea. The highback and baseplate carry more support on the outside and more flex on the inside, to balance support with easy maneuvering and fewer pressure points. The baseplate is a 30% fiberglass nylon composite. The highback is pre-rotated 12 degrees to follow a natural stance angle and carries HB Filter, a vibration-filtering material meant to cut leg fatigue. Underfoot you get a 2.5-degree canted footbed with EVA pads front and rear. Toe ramp and Supreme Lite strap lengths adjust by hand, no screwdriver needed.
That softness is also where the Rhythm stops. Riders who go fast, charge hard or need stronger support on firm snow will want more binding than this. The buckle levers are composite, so skip it if aluminum hardware is a must. Skip it if you already know you want a mid-flex everyday binding or Salomon's ShadowFit heel hold; those live further up the line.
Pick the size from your boot, not your body weight. S runs up to US men's 8 and women's 9, M covers men's 7.5–10.5 and women's 8.5–11.5, and L covers men's 10–13.5. Men's boots at 7.5–8 or 10–10.5 can land in either size, so bring the boots in and we match the binding size to them before mounting.

Salomon Rhythm
Salomon snowboard bindings family · 2026/27
The Salomon Rhythm is one step up from the Pact and one step below the EDB in Salomon's binding line, and that slot is the clearest way to judge it. The Pact is the tier below: one retailer's spec sheet puts it at 1.5 of 5 against the Rhythm's 2 of 5 on the same scale, on a Zone baseplate with the same HB Filter highback idea, and it suits a first-season rider who wants a softer binding than the Rhythm. The EDB sits a tier above as Salomon's mid-flex Every Day Binding, with complete tool-free adjustment and a high-volume rear pad; that is the pick for an intermediate who is starting to want more response. The District adds Salomon's ShadowFit heelcup for riders who put heel hold first. Choose the Rhythm when the Pact feels like too little binding and the EDB feels like more than you need yet.
The hardware is simple. The ratchet is Salomon's MP with a composite buckle lever, and the Supreme Lite straps are light molded pieces with MicroMax fine adjustment. Some owner reviews report toe straps coming off during runs or strap screws working loose; we set the strap and ratchet screws at mounting. IMS keeps the disc screws in the disc while you change stance angles, which matters to a rider still working out a stance. The highback's 12-degree pre-rotation is a fixed shape, and the current dealer listings name no separate rotation adjustment. The disc is also listed as Unite Disc compatible, which is Salomon's rental mounting system.
Sizing comes from the boot. Salomon Australia's foot-length chart runs S to 250 mm, M from 261 to 275 mm and L from 286 mm, with in-between lengths able to take either size. On US boot sizes, dealer charts overlap S and M at men's 7.5–8 and M and L at 10–10.5, so a men's 8 or 10 deserves a try-on with the actual boot. The Rhythm is sold as unisex, and dealer charts run the S up to women's 9. Bring your board and boots: our technician matches the binding size to your boot, sets the straps and confirms the disc against your inserts when we mount the bindings.

A vibration-filtering material in the highback, meant to reduce leg and foot fatigue.
Pre-rotated highback
The highback is shaped pre-rotated by 12 degrees for a natural fit with typical stance angles.
Canted footbed
Footbed canted 2.5 degrees, with a full EVA rear pad and an EVA front pad to absorb shock.
Tool-free toe ramp
The toe ramp adjusts by hand to change how the binding transmits toe-edge pressure.
IMS with Universal Disc
Integrated Mounting System keeps the disc screws in place when you adjust stance or swap boards.

- +IMS keeps disc screws in place through stance changes.
- +2.5-degree canted footbed angles the knees into a natural stance.
Best For
Beginner to intermediate riders on groomers, all-mountain laps and easy park features who want a soft, forgiving two-strap binding they can adjust by hand.
Limitations
- −Soft flex runs short on support for fast, aggressive riding.
- −Buckle levers are composite rather than aluminum.
- −Some owners report toe straps or strap screws working loose.
- −Salomon's ShadowFit heel hold is on the District, not the Rhythm.
Not For
Riders who go fast on firm snow, ride aggressive terrain or need stronger support: the soft flex runs out of support, and Salomon's mid-flex EDB is the next step. Anyone who wants aluminum hardware, or Salomon's ShadowFit heelcup, which sits on the District. First-day riders who want something softer should compare the Pact a tier below.

Common Questions
- Salomon Rhythm vs Salomon EDB: what is the difference?
- The Salomon Rhythm is the softer, beginner-to-intermediate binding, while the EDB steps up to a medium flex, adjusts fully without tools and adds a high-volume rear pad; Salomon names it the Every Day Binding. One retailer rates the Rhythm 2 of 5 and the EDB 3 of 5 on the same scale. Pick the EDB once you want more response.
- Salomon Rhythm vs Salomon Pact: which is softer?
- The Salomon Pact is the softer binding: it rates 1.5 of 5 on the same retail scale that puts the Rhythm at 2 of 5. The Pact sits a tier below on a Zone baseplate. A first-season rider can start on the Pact; a progressing rider fits the Rhythm.
- What size Salomon Rhythm should I get?
- Size the Salomon Rhythm by your boot, not your weight. Dealer charts put the S up to US men's 8 or women's 9, the M at men's 7.5–10.5 and the L at men's 10–13.5. Boots in the overlaps can fit either, so bring them to the bench and we size the binding to them.
- Is the Salomon Rhythm good for beginners?
- The Salomon Rhythm suits beginners and intermediates: retail listings rate it beginner to intermediate with a soft flex. Its asymmetrical highback and baseplate add support outside and keep more flex inside. Riders who already go fast on firm snow will outgrow its support.
- Will the Salomon Rhythm fit my board (4x4, 2x4 or Channel)?
- The Salomon Rhythm mounts through Salomon's Universal Disc and IMS (Integrated Mounting System), and retailer specs list 4x4, 2x4 and Channel boards for it. We do not promise a fit from a listing alone. Our technician checks the disc against your board's inserts when we mount the bindings.
- Is the Salomon Rhythm a men's or women's binding?
- The Salomon Rhythm is sold as unisex, and Salomon Australia lists it that way, though a Swiss dealer and a US dealer title it men's. Its S size covers women's boots up to about size 9 on dealer charts. Fit follows the boot, so we size it at the bench.
