Ride Anthem Snowboard Boots 26/27

The Anthem's $289.95 buys a boot whose fit hardware survived the price point, and that is the fairest way to judge it. Our own read, from the boots we have had through the shop, is that this end of a line often arrives stripped down: a reel, a shell, a liner, and very little else shaping how the boot sits on the foot. This one carries internal J bars, a liner lace that locks independently of the reel, and a Velcro calf panel on the cuff — three separate places shaping how the boot grips you, none of them dependent on the dial.

The Anthem's closure is the decision you are actually making. One reel, one cable, one zone: turn it and everything from the toes to the top of the shell moves together. The Closer helps push that tension down toward the front of the foot, but spreading a pull is not the same as splitting it — if you want the forefoot easy and the ankle clamped, this boot has no mechanism on the shell for that. Independent reviews of earlier Anthem generations, model years 2011 through 2020 rather than this one, kept landing on the same trade: quick on and off, little separate adjustment between the foot and the upper.

Inside Ride's own range, the Anthem and the Insano make the most useful comparison, because they share the Silver Last and separate on the two things you are actually choosing between: stiffness and closure. Feel 5/10 and a "Mellow" response attribute against Feel 10/10 and "Aggressive"; a single dial against a Zonal BOA. That pairing is Ride's own proof that a last name marks a shape family and not a hardness grade — ranked on Ride's own Feel numbers, the Silver Last carries both the softest and the stiffest men's boot in our 26/27 Ride buy. It proves nothing about width: two boots built on one last share whatever width that last has, so sharing one tells you nothing about how wide either boot runs. The Trident, Lasso, Lasso Pro and Fuse all sit on Ride's Black Last, so none of those is a firmer Anthem. They are different shapes.

What the Anthem does not give you is numbers. Ride publishes no weight per boot, no internal shell length, and no width class for this last, on the product page or in the 26/27 dealer workbook. Its size chart is the brand-wide US / US Women's / UK / EURO / CM conversion table, which turns a US size into a foot length in centimeters and is not a measurement of this boot. Ride also stops short of describing this Intuition Plush Foam liner as heat-moldable, though it uses that wording on another boot in the same line — so treat a shop bake as a question for a fitter rather than an assumption. One color-linked limit is worth checking before you commit: for 26/27, US 14 and 15 are listed in Black only.

Buy the Anthem if you want a mellow all-mountain boot you can be into and riding in seconds, and you accept one shell tension as the cost of that speed. Look further up Ride's line if your fit problems are zone-specific, or if you want the stiff, aggressive end of what Ride builds. Either way the fit gets settled in person — a spec sheet cannot size a boot.
