Rossignol Rallybird Soul Pro

The take
“For the young ripper who wants to explore the whole mountain, not just the groomers.”
The Rallybird Soul Pro is Rossignol's junior freeride ski for girls, and it's built with the same philosophy as the adult Rallybird line: lightweight, forgiving, and versatile enough to go from groomers to soft snow without a second thought.
The PEFC poplar core keeps costs down while providing decent flex and rebound. Cap construction saves weight -- important when your skier weighs 60-100 pounds. The V-A-S (Vibration Absorbing System) damping helps smooth out the chatter that junior skiers often feel because they lack the body weight to pressure the ski properly.
The twin rocker profile is the right call for a junior freeride ski. It makes turn entry easy, floats in soft snow, and releases without hooking. The progressive sidecut lets younger skiers drift and skid turns without penalty while rewarding them with cleaner arcs as technique improves.
This is a step up from Rossignol's beginner junior skis. The kid on this ski should already be comfortable on blue runs and starting to explore blacks. It's not a racing ski and it's not a park ski -- it's a mountain exploration tool for girls who want to ski everything.
Sizing runs from 130 to 180, which covers roughly ages 6-14 depending on the kid. The Xpress 10 binding included is appropriate for the weight range.
