Description

The POC Skull Dura Jr Marco Odermatt Edition is the junior Skull Dura race helmet in a special colorway. It wears the lion graphic Odermatt runs on his own World Cup kit, in Argentite Silver. Under the paint, nothing changes. Same ABS and PC shell, same multi-impact EPP liner, same FIS RH 2013 homologation and EN 1077 Class A.

Like the base helmet, it has no MIPS. The edition is purely cosmetic — you pay a small premium for the look, not for extra protection. See our review below for the value math and who should buy it.

Technology

Race Lock Fit

POC’s race fit system locks the helmet down so it stays put and tuck-safe when a junior racer is on a fast line.

EPP Multi-Impact Liner

An expanded polypropylene liner that can absorb repeated knocks rather than being spent after a single hit — useful for a helmet that brushes gates all season.

ABS + PC Hardshell

A hard ABS outer shell with a polycarbonate layer, built to shrug off direct gate strikes at race speed.

Ear Chambers

Shaped ear pockets that keep coverage without deadening the course-side sound a young racer needs to hear.

Features

  • ·Marco Odermatt lion graphic in the Argentite Silver colorway — the same lion he runs on his race kit
  • ·FIS RH 2013 homologated — legal for sanctioned junior racing
  • ·EN 1077 Class A — fuller coverage and a higher energy standard than resort Class B lids
  • ·Race Lock fit stays tuck-safe at speed
  • ·Maxilla Breakaway chin bar compatible (sold separately) for slalom
  • ·Two junior sizes, XS/S and M/L

The Skull Dura Jr Marco Odermatt Edition is the standard Skull Dura Jr race helmet in the Argentite Silver colorway, wearing the lion graphic Odermatt runs on his own World Cup race kit. Under the paint the build is identical: a hard ABS-plus-PC outer shell over a multi-impact EPP liner, homologated to FIS RH 2013 and certified EN 1077 Class A — the level sanctioned racing requires, above the Class B lids recreational skiers wear.

The edition is cosmetic. You’re paying a small premium over the base Dura Jr for the graphic and colorway, not for extra protection or technology. And like the base helmet, it does not have MIPS — POC omits the rotational-management liner on this junior race platform, so don’t assume it’s in there. What is here is the Race Lock fit for a tuck-safe hold, ear chambers, and compatibility with the Maxilla Breakaway chin bar for slalom, which sells separately.

Buy it if your junior racer wants Odermatt’s look on a genuinely FIS-legal helmet and you don’t mind the graphic premium. Skip it if you want MIPS, or if the look doesn’t matter — the base Dura Jr in a plain colorway gives identical protection for less. It weighs 700g in XS/S and 750g in M/L, slightly more than the base helmet.

Strengths

  • +Odermatt lion graphic and Argentite Silver colorway on a genuine race helmet
  • +FIS RH 2013 homologation and EN 1077 Class A protection
  • +Hard ABS + PC shell with a multi-impact EPP liner for repeated gate strikes
  • +Race Lock fit stays tuck-safe; Maxilla chin bar compatible for slalom

Best For

Junior racers who want Marco Odermatt’s look on a FIS-legal race helmet, and parents fine with the graphic premium.

Limitations

  • −No MIPS — this junior race platform omits rotational-impact management
  • −You pay a graphic premium over the identical base Skull Dura Jr
  • −Chin bar for slalom is not included — it’s a separate purchase
  • −Slightly heavier than the base helmet (700g XS/S, 750g M/L)

Not For

Anyone who wants MIPS, and value shoppers who don’t care about the graphic — the plain Dura Jr protects identically for less.
