POC Obex Contour Marco Odermatt Edition Ski Helmet
Obex family · 26/27

Technology

A low-friction layer inside the helmet that lets it move a few millimeters on an angled impact, redirecting rotational force away from your head.
Polycarbonate Shell + EPS Liner
A polycarbonate outer shell over an EPS impact liner — the standard Obex Contour build, unchanged by the edition graphic.
360° Fit System
A rear dial that tightens a full-perimeter cradle for a fast, even fit you can adjust with a glove on.
Comms Compatibility
Compatible with the POC Aid Communication Headset if you want to add integrated audio to the helmet later.
Features
- ·Marco Odermatt colorway — Uranium Black / Podium Gold with his signature lion graphic
- ·Ventilation channels with goggle chimneys to cut fogging
- ·360° adjustment dial for a fast, dialed fit
- ·Goggle clip and detachable ear pads
- ·Clean integration with POC goggles
This is a cosmetic edition, so the honest starting point is that the helmet underneath does not change. Mechanically it is the standard Obex Contour: a single-material polycarbonate shell over an EPS liner, with Mips Evolve — POC’s integrated low-friction layer that lets the shell shift a few millimeters on an angled impact to help manage rotational force. The Odermatt Edition adds a colorway — Uranium Black with Podium Gold and the lion graphic Marco Odermatt, the reigning Swiss alpine World Cup overall champion, carries on his race kit — and roughly $20 over the base Contour. The protection, the fit, and the certification are identical.
That means the same all-mountain package underneath the paint: EN 1077 Class B and ASTM F2040 certification, ventilation channels with goggle chimneys, a 360° dial, detachable ear pads, a goggle clip, and compatibility with the POC Aid Communication Headset if you want to add audio later. It weighs 480g in M/L — a light, well-vented resort lid, not a backcountry helmet. There is no RECCO reflector or NFC chip.
So the decision is purely whether the graphic is worth about $20 to you. If it is, this is a clean, capable POC helmet in a colorway you will not see on every chairlift. If it is not, the plain Obex Contour is the identical helmet for less. One caution worth repeating: do not confuse this with the online Obex Pure Odermatt, which is a different, cheaper, non-MIPS helmet on a lighter PC shell — this Contour edition keeps Mips Evolve and the full Obex feature set.
Strengths
- +Same protection and fit as the standard Obex Contour
- +Mips Evolve rotational protection and a 360° dial fit
- +Well-vented with goggle chimneys and clean POC goggle integration
- +Distinctive Odermatt colorway and lion graphic
Best For
Resort skiers who want a clean, well-vented POC helmet and like the Marco Odermatt colorway enough to pay a small premium for it.
Limitations
- −About $20 premium over the base Obex Contour for the graphic alone
- −No rescue hardware — resort-focused, not a backcountry lid
- −Easy to confuse with the cheaper, non-MIPS online Obex Pure Odermatt
Not For
Anyone indifferent to the graphic (the plain Obex Contour is the same helmet for less) or shopping for a backcountry rescue helmet.

Common Questions
- Is the POC Obex Contour Marco Odermatt Edition different from the standard Obex Contour?
- Only cosmetically. It is the same helmet — polycarbonate shell, EPS liner, Mips Evolve, 360° fit — in a Uranium Black / Podium Gold colorway with Odermatt’s lion graphic, at about a $20 premium.
- Is this the same as the Obex Pure Odermatt?
- No. The online Obex Pure Odermatt is a different, non-MIPS helmet at a lower price. This is the MIPS-equipped Obex Contour with the edition graphic.
- How much does the POC Obex Contour Marco Odermatt Edition weigh?
- It weighs 480g in M/L. POC has not published weights for the other sizes.
- Does the POC Obex Contour Marco Odermatt Edition have MIPS?
- Yes. It carries Mips Evolve, the same rotational-protection system as the standard Obex Contour. This is where it differs from the online Obex Pure Odermatt, which is a non-MIPS helmet.
- Who is Marco Odermatt, and what is the lion graphic?
- Marco Odermatt is the Swiss alpine racer and reigning World Cup overall champion. The lion is his personal signature graphic — the same one he carries on his race kit — and it appears here in a Uranium Black / Podium Gold colorway.
