POC Fornix MIPS POW JJ Ski Helmet

Fornix family · 26/27

MIPSPOC logo

Technology

Mips Evolve

An integrated low-friction layer inside the helmet that lets it move a few millimeters on an angled impact, designed to help redirect rotational force away from your head.

Aramid Bridges

High-strength aramid fibers molded into the shell’s risk zones, adding structural strength and penetration resistance without a big weight penalty.

360° Adjustment Cradle

A dial-adjustable cradle that tightens evenly around the head, so fit is set with a single twist and holds through the day.

Goggle Chimney Ventilation

Adjustable vents with channels routed to the goggle area, moving warm air out and cutting lens fogging.

Features

  • ·Protect Our Winters × Jeremy Jones edition — 10% of proceeds to POW
  • ·Aramid-reinforced construction for penetration resistance
  • ·Adjustable vents with goggle chimneys to cut fogging
  • ·360° cradle for a fast, dialed fit
  • ·Removable ear pads and a rear goggle clip
  • ·Three sizes (XS/S–XL/XXL)

Most pro-athlete graphics are just paint. This one is not. The POW JJ is a Protect Our Winters × Jeremy Jones edition, and POC puts 10% of proceeds toward POW’s climate work — so the premium over a plain Fornix goes somewhere, into the winters you actually ski. Under the artwork, Mips Evolve manages the rotational forces an angled impact can send to your head.

The helmet under the edition is a genuine freeride Fornix. A polycarbonate shell sits over an aramid-reinforced EPS liner, with molded aramid bridges in the risk zones for penetration resistance without a big weight penalty. It runs like a POC should — adjustable vents with goggle chimneys to keep lenses clear, a 360° cradle, removable ear pads, and a rear goggle clip. Certification is EN 1077 Class B plus ASTM F2040, the freeride and all-mountain standard, not a race rating.

Where it sits in the Fornix line is simple. It shares its build with the base Fornix MIPS and adds the edition graphic and the POW donation. It carries no RECCO reflector or NFC chip, so it is not the one to buy specifically for backcountry rescue — that is the Fornix BC, which adds both. Buy the POW JJ if you want an aramid-reinforced all-mountain lid and like that your money backs Protect Our Winters; if you tour and want a rescue layer, step to the BC instead.

Strengths

  • +Aramid-reinforced shell for penetration resistance
  • +Mips Evolve rotational protection and a 360° cradle fit
  • +Anti-fog goggle chimneys and clean POC goggle integration
  • +Edition premium funds Protect Our Winters (10% of proceeds)

Best For

Freeride and all-mountain skiers who want an aramid-reinforced POC lid and like that the edition premium funds POW.

Limitations

  • No RECCO reflector or NFC chip — not a backcountry-rescue helmet
  • Edition graphic carries a small premium over a plain lid
  • Heavier than the lighter Obex line if grams are your priority

Not For

Backcountry skiers who need a RECCO reflector, and groomer-only skiers chasing the cheapest certified helmet.

Common Questions

What makes the POC Fornix MIPS POW JJ different from the standard Fornix MIPS?
It is the same Fornix helmet in a Protect Our Winters × Jeremy Jones edition, with 10% of proceeds going to POW. The construction, Mips Evolve, and certification are the Fornix build.
Does the POC Fornix MIPS POW JJ have RECCO or an NFC chip?
No. This version has neither RECCO nor an NFC chip. If you want a backcountry rescue layer, look at the Fornix BC.
How much does the POC Fornix MIPS POW JJ weigh?
It weighs 500g in M/L and 550g in XL/XXL.
Where does the money from the POW JJ edition go?
POC directs 10% of proceeds from the Protect Our Winters × Jeremy Jones edition to POW’s climate work. That is what the small premium over the plain Fornix MIPS funds.
POW JJ or Fornix BC — which should I buy?
By use. The POW JJ is the standard Fornix build in a cause edition, with no RECCO or NFC chip — a resort and freeride helmet. The Fornix BC adds a RECCO reflector and a twICEme NFC chip for backcountry travel. Tour in avalanche terrain, buy the BC; ski in-bounds and want to back POW, the POW JJ.
