The F1 is One Ball's core glide wax, made in-house at their factory in Belfair, Washington since the mid-eighties. The 65g bar covers a mid-range temperature window — roughly 21°F to 28°F (-6°C to -2°C) — which maps well to typical cold packed and groomed conditions throughout the ski season. You can iron it in for a proper hot-wax treatment, or rub it on and cork it out when you're short on time. Either way it goes down clean, holds reasonably well through a day, and wipes off easily when you're ready to switch formulas. It's completely fluoro-free — no PTFE, no PFAS, no microplastics — which matters both for your health and for most race venues now banning fluoro outright.
This is a solid everyday wax for riders who want something honest and affordable to keep in their kit. It's not a warm-snow or slush formula — if you're skiing spring corn or temperatures are consistently above freezing, look at One Ball's F1 Summer Slush instead. And if conditions are consistently colder than about 21°F (-6°C), step up to a colder-rated wax like One Ball's 4WD Cold (rated down to 5°F). But for the bulk of a normal winter — variable groomed days, mid-mountain temperatures, the kind of snow most people ski most of the time — the F1 covers it.
