One Ball 4WD Base Prep Hot Scrape & Cleaning Wax – 165g

This is a base prep and cleaning wax, not a glide wax. You iron it in hot, let it cool, then scrape it all back off — the wax pulls old wax, dirt, and oxidation out of your UHMW base as you scrape. One Ball's formula has no fluoro, no surfactants, no polymers. Use it before applying your temperature-specific glide wax, especially at the start of the season when bases are dry, or any time your base looks oxidized and thirsty. Works on skis and snowboards equally.

If you're looking for a glide wax to put on and leave on, this isn't it — the whole point is to scrape it back off. You'll need an iron and a good scraper. If you're already doing regular hot-wax tune-ups and your base is in decent shape, you can skip this step most days. But if you've been riding on a dry base or the same wax for half a season, running a hot scrape with this first will make whatever you put on next actually stick and perform.
