Description
The Nitro Crown TLS is a women's all-mountain snowboard boot built for comfort first, closed with Nitro's two-zone TLS speed lace instead of dials. On Nitro's own scale it scores a Comfort 9/10 and a Response 5/10, and the size run covers Mondopoint 22.0 to 28.5 (US women's 5 to 11.5); Nitro publishes no last width.
The Crown comes in two lacing versions; this is the lace one. TLS gives two independently adjustable zones with Dyneema laces, and the new molded lace gliders are there, Nitro says, for more lacing power and precision. Each zone gets its own pull, so lower-foot and cuff tension are set apart. Inside, the Women's Cloud 6 liner comes pre-molded with Thermacell and is heat moldable, and Nitro's ILS system laces the liner to the inside of the shell for heel hold. An Ortholite High Cup footbed sits underneath, and the EVA outsole carries rubber impact panels made with up to 30% recycled rubber. For 26/27 Nitro added a molded toe box alongside the reinforced heel construction.
A Response 5 boot is a medium, and Nitro describes the Cloud 6 as a more flexible alternative to its Cloud 9 and Cloud 10 liners, for riders who want board feel. That makes the Crown TLS easy on groomers, side hits and park laps, and forgiving while you progress. It also sets the limit: this is a comfort-first boot, not a stiff charger, and a rider who wants hard, fast turns, steep faces or big park jumps needs more support. The Nitro Fate, rated Response 7/10 with a Vibram outsole and Therminator Shield sole insulation, is the stiffer step in the same women's line. If you would rather turn a dial than pull a lace, the Crown BOA is the same boot with Nitro's Dual BOA.
Nitro publishes no weight for the Crown, and its web page labels the US sizes half a size off its dealer manual, so we fit by Mondopoint. Bring your riding socks: we check length and heel hold, heat-mold the Cloud 6 liner, and match your binding size to the boot.

Nitro Crown TLS (Women's)
2026/27
Flex
Medium — Response 5 on Nitro's own scale of 1 to 10
Flex ratings are the brand’s own and do not compare across brands.
Nitro's Crown TLS is the speed-lace version of the Crown, which Nitro calls its best-selling women's boot. It shares everything else with the Crown BOA: the Women's Cloud 6 liner, ILS heel hold, the EVA outsole and Nitro's own rating of Response 5/10 and Comfort 9/10. The real choice between the two is the closure, so start there.
The Crown TLS closes with Nitro's TLS system: two independently adjustable zones, Dyneema laces and a Bail Out release. The lower foot and the upper cuff each take their own pull, so the two zones are tensioned separately. For 26/27 Nitro added molded lace gliders, which it says give TLS models more lacing power and precision. The trade against the BOA version is resolution: Nitro sells the BOA's dials on precise zonal micro adjustment, while with TLS you release the lace and pull it again. If you like one quick, firm pull and then forget about it, TLS suits you. If you fiddle with tension all day, the dials are the better tool.
The Crown TLS earns its comfort rating inside the shell. The Cloud 6 comes pre-molded with Thermacell, so it is shaped before anyone heats it, and it can still be heat molded to your foot. An Ortholite High Cup footbed adds cushioning underneath, and ILS laces the liner into the shell to hold the heel down. A molded toe box, new this season, and reinforced heel construction are there for durability.
Two of Nitro's other women's boots frame the choice. The Nitro Fate is the stiffer one: Response 7/10 with the same Comfort 9/10, a Vibram Ecostep outsole, Therminator Shield sole insulation and a Speed Gaiter. The Nitro Monarch sits next to the Crown at Response 5, with a lower Comfort 8 and Nitro's Interlock System in place of ILS. Over the Monarch, the Crown carries the higher comfort rating; the Fate is where you go for more support.
Fit decides the Crown TLS more than any rating. Nitro publishes no weight, no last width and no boot sole length, and its web page prints US women's 4.5 to 11 where the dealer manual prints 5 to 11.5, for the same Mondopoint 22.0 to 28.5. We size it by Mondopoint on your foot, heat-mold the liner, and set your binding size from the boot. The run starting at US 5, where the Fate and Monarch start at US 6, makes the Crown worth a look for small feet.
Fit
Nitro women's fit
Nitro publishes no last width or volume figure for the Crown. The Cloud 6 liner is heat moldable, so we size by Mondopoint on your foot and mold the liner at fitting.
Snowboard boots are sized by foot length, not a shell-width figure.
Closure
TLS dual-zone speed lace
Liner
Women's Cloud 6 — heat moldable, pre-molded Thermacell
Outsole
EVA outsole with Rubber Impact Panels
Technology
TLS Lacing
Nitro's speed-lace closure, which Nitro calls lightning-fast dual zone lacing. Each of its two zones adjusts independently, the laces are Dyneema, and Nitro fits a Bail Out release; each lace pull sets one zone.
Molded Lace Gliders
Molded lace guides added to the Crown for 26/27. Nitro credits them with more lacing power and precision on TLS models.
ILS (Internal Lacing System)
An internal lacing system that secures the liner inside the shell. Nitro builds it to keep the heel from slipping.
Women's Cloud 6 Liner
More flexible than Nitro's Cloud 9 and Cloud 10 liners and aimed at riders who want board feel. It is pre-molded with Thermacell for out-of-box comfort and is heat moldable for a custom fit.
EVA Outsole with Rubber Impact Panels
A lightweight EVA outsole that Nitro describes as grippy, with rubber impact panels that use up to 30% recycled rubber for traction.

Best For
Women who want one comfortable boot for the whole resort and are happy on a medium flex, Response 5 on Nitro's scale. It suits riders who like setting the lower foot and the cuff separately with a quick lace pull, progressing riders who want forgiveness and a held heel, and small feet, with the run starting at US women's 5.
Limitations
- −Response 5 is a medium; hard chargers will want more support
- −Cloud 6 liner is softer than Nitro's Cloud 9 and Cloud 10
- −TLS has no dial micro-adjust; the Crown BOA has two dials
- −EVA outsole, not the Vibram Ecostep rubber of the Nitro Fate
- −Nitro publishes no weight, last width or boot sole length
Not For
Riders who want a stiff, high-response boot for hard carving at speed, steep lines or big park landings: Response 5 is a medium and the Cloud 6 is softer than Nitro's Cloud 9 and 10, so look at the Nitro Fate instead. Riders who want to fine-tune tension with a dial on the chairlift; that is the Crown BOA. Anyone who needs a men's fit or a published wide last, since Nitro gives no width figure. And anyone comparing flex numbers across brands, because Nitro's 1 to 10 scale is its own.

Common Questions
- Nitro Crown TLS vs Crown BOA: what is the difference?
- The Nitro Crown TLS and Crown BOA are the same women's boot with different closures: the TLS uses Nitro's dual-zone TLS lacing with Dyneema laces, and the BOA uses the Dual High Power H5 BOA Fit System. Both carry the Cloud 6 liner, ILS and Nitro's Response 5/10, Comfort 9/10 rating. Pick TLS for a quick, firm pull and BOA for dial adjustments on the hill.
- Nitro Crown TLS vs Nitro Fate: which is stiffer?
- The Nitro Fate is the stiffer boot: Nitro rates it Response 7/10 against the Crown TLS at Response 5/10, with both at Comfort 9/10. The Fate also gets a Vibram outsole in Ecostep compound, a Therminator Shield under the foot for insulation, and a Speed Gaiter. Choose the Crown TLS for comfort and forgiveness, and the Fate for more support at speed and in bigger terrain.
- What size Nitro Crown TLS should I get?
- Size the Nitro Crown TLS by foot length in Mondopoint; Nitro's run is 22.0 to 28.5. US labels differ between Nitro's own sources (US women's 5 to 11.5 in the dealer manual, 4.5 to 11 on its web page), and no last width is published, so a fitting settles it. Bring your riding socks and we measure, check heel hold and heat-mold the Cloud 6 liner.
- Is the Nitro Crown TLS good for beginners?
- The Nitro Crown TLS suits beginners and progressing riders: Nitro rates it Response 5/10, a medium flex, with Comfort 9/10, and its heat-moldable Cloud 6 liner is more flexible than the Cloud 9 and Cloud 10. It stays useful as you move onto the whole mountain. Riders who already charge hard will outgrow its support and should look at the Nitro Fate.
- Will the Nitro Crown TLS work with my snowboard bindings?
- The Nitro Crown TLS is built for traditional strap bindings and is not one of Nitro's Step On models, and Nitro publishes no boot sole length for it. Binding fit comes down to the binding's size chart and your boot size, so a technician confirms it when you buy. Bring your bindings in, or we match a binding size to the boot at fitting.
