Cuff is a proper gauntlet with a drawcord and wrist strap, so you can seal out the snow without fighting the mitt every time you need a hand free.
It's a solid choice for someone who skis hard in variable conditions and wants a mitt — not a glove — that won't feel like wearing oven mitts. If you run warm or mostly ski bluebird days, this is more mitt than you need. Also worth noting: the gauntlet cuff goes over your jacket sleeve, so if you prefer under-cuff wear, look elsewhere.
