Jones Freecarver 9000s Snowboard 2026/2027

The Freecarver 9000s is Jones's dedicated carving board — the brand calls it their most committed carver, built for high-speed turns on piste. Jones's own terrain read: carving yes, freeride/powder 5, freestyle/park 2. Rider level intermediate to expert.

The profile is True High-Camber, Jones's most powerful camber, with no rocker in it. Flex is 4/5 — Jones describes it as mid stiff and lively. The sidecut runs 9.0m on the 152 and opens to 9.6m on the 164, with effective edge from 1261mm to 1376mm; Jones points at that long edge and long radius as where the board's hold comes from. Shaping is low taper with a Dual-Radius Flip Tip over a Medium 3D Contour Base, and High Traction Tech serrates the edge for extra contact points. Parts: a poplar, paulownia and bamboo core, biax fiberglass, a BComp Carbon Flax stringer, a Premium Topsheet and a Sintered 8000 base, on a standard 2x4 insert pack.

Size it short. Jones says to ride the Freecarver 9000s 4–6cm shorter than your standard board — the sizing on this one is not the sizing you are used to. Waists run 268mm (152) to 274mm (164), weights 3.0kg to 3.4kg. Rider weight and boot-size ranges are listed per length in the specs below.

This is a board for someone who wants to lay a turn over on groomed snow and drive it. It is not a park board, and Jones's own freestyle number (2 of 10) says so. If you want one board for powder and trees, look at the Hovercraft or the Mind Expander instead.
