Hestra CZone Mountain 3-finger

The backhand is Niak, a 100% polyester fabric that Hestra specifies as windproof, waterproof and breathable. The palm is impregnated goat leather. Fiberfill does the insulating, and the CZone insert is built in. The Bemberg lining has five fingers, and the spec doesn't call it removable.

Most of the features sit at the wrist. A snow lock, an inner cuff that closes around the wrist, keeps snow out. Elastic and a Velcro closure at the wrist set a snug fit. A puller at the cuff helps you pull the glove on, and attachment points take handcuffs, Hestra's term for wrist leashes. Hestra also lists Wolf Paw construction.

A three-finger glove splits the difference between a glove and a mitt. The index finger gets its own space for grip and small jobs. The middle, ring and little fingers share one compartment, so they warm each other the way they would in a mitt. Fiberfill insulation and the Bemberg lining handle the rest.

The CZone insert gives the glove its waterproof layer, and the snow lock closes the gap at the wrist.

Both colors, Black and Beige, come in Hestra sizes 6 through 11.

Pick it if your fingers get cold in a five-finger glove but a full mitt feels clumsy. It's unisex, and it sits in Hestra's Alpine collection.
