Hestra Army Leather Heli Ski Jr 3-finger

Army Leather is Hestra's specially treated goat leather. It started out in gloves for military purposes, Hestra says, and it "withstands tough, outdoor conditions." The glove's backhand fabric, HESTRA Triton, is made from recycled polyamide, and the spec includes Eagle Grip construction.

Insulation is G-Loft. The Bemberg polyester lining is removable and cut in the same 3-finger shape as the glove. Handcuffs (wrist leashes) keep the glove attached when it's off the hand. The snow lock is an inner cuff that closes around the wrist, and a wrist strap with a Velcro closure tightens the fit.

Middle, ring and little fingers share a compartment and pool their heat. The index finger has a compartment of its own, so it can move on its own. G-Loft and the lining add the insulation around both. In short, a 3-finger gives more finger movement than a mitt and more shared warmth than five separate fingers.

Hestra lists the Triton backhand as windproof and breathable. On the leather, Hestra says Army Leather's structural properties provide "effective protection against moisture."
